Decadent Delight - Decadent Ales w/ Evil Twin Brewing

Beer Review

Decadent Delight is an 11.7% alcohol/volume Imperial Double Stout made by Decadent Ales in collaboration with Evil Twin Brewing. Decadent Ales is a craft brewery in New York specializing in intriguing flavored brews. Evil Twin Brewing is a nomadic beer creator from Denmark. Their beers are contracted to be made in at least 10 different breweries around the world. The Decadent Delight was released as part of the Twelve Percent Beer Project on April 29, 2018 at Veracious Brewing Company in Monroe, Connecticut. It's a rich, velvety stout made with coconut, pistachio and cinnamon.

The Can

The Decadent Delight is served in a full pint can. The label has a dark purple and black design. In the center is a doodle of a man with a top hat. Similar figures are seen on other Decadent Ale beers. Up top, the two breweries are named in an equal fashion.

The Beer

The Decadent Delight was dark and smooth. Small, beady-like bubbles formed an appetizing head atop the beer as it acclimated to the glass. At first sip I tasted big nutty flavors with an aftertaste of cinnamon. It had a smooth and velvety feel. At nearly 12% alcohol/volume, the beer had a bit of booziness to it, but it was certainly manageable. Overall it was a solid stout with loads of flavor. I look forward to trying more from Decadent Ales and Evil Twin Brewing in the future.

I believe the guy who owns Evil Twin ( Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergso) is actually the twin of Mikkel Bjerso, who owns Mikkeller - no idea if he is actually evil though.

Thanks for the info. I’ve never seen or tried Mikkeller before, but now I will have to be on the lookout. The evil guy probably makes the better beer though...

They are actually both pretty darn good at it, impressive to great two great brewers from the same family.

theres a good looking beer

16 ounces at 12%! That would be enough for me.

Great information about this special type of drink.
thanks for sharing
