Vito The Beer Whale Cat is an 8% alcohol/volume New England Style IPA made by Fat Orange Cat Brew Co. in East Hampton, Connecticut. Fat Orange Cat Brew Co. opened on August 13, 2016 as a seasonal small craft brewer operating out of a barn. They specialize in high quality batches and do their best to support local agriculture. Fat Orange Cat Brew Co. got it's name from a cat named 'Billy' that used to hang out with the brewers and support them on a daily basis. Unfortunately Billy has moved on to a better place, but his presence will forever live on in the Breweries name. Vito The Beer Whale Cat uses a combination of Azacca and Simcoe hops to create a complex and hazy IPA.

Someone In My Head

The Can

Vito The Beer Whale Cat is served in a full pint can. The front features a large, long-haired orange cat with blue eyes and a very stern look on his face. He's holding a board with his name on it, as if he were getting his mugshot taken. The cat definitely looks like a crime boss.

The Beer

Vito The Beer Whale Cat was the 2nd beer I ever tried from Fat Orange Cat Brew Co.. It was a dark orange color when I poured it into a glass. A solid head of foam sat upon the top of the beer after I finished the pour. It was a smooth IPA with a complex flavor of tropical and pine. A bit of booze can be tasted but it was tolerable. Overall the Vito The Beer Whale Cat was a solid beer. I look forward to trying more from Fat Orange Cat Brew Co. in the future.
