These are previews from the Belgian Jupiler League with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries and my personal betting angles, ...

Solid start of the weekend with the Club Brugge match almost going exactly as hoped in yesterdays preview. The trap of taking the favorite at a big handicap line pre-game was avoided and the live opportunity of betting them when they got behind along with some Corner bets worked out for some nice profit despite a really poor match from the home team.

Standard vs Charleroi

Standard played a good first half against Eupen, but completely collapsed and lost the match in the 2nd half. They are a work in progress team with lots of potential that is yet to be seen. Carcela has been nowhere near the form he reached during last seasons play-offs, Sa also has been far off his potential and Lestienne is not in the team yet. Betting standard now would be bades more on speculation instead of actual form and I am closely watching them to get in the kind of streak Racing Genk have been in at the start of the season. Charleroi managed to break their losing streak against Moeskroen playing a rather unconvincing 1st part of that match but ending up with a deserved 3-0. The reference match to look at would have to be the one against Anderlecht though. They lost at home 1-2 but deserved a lot more honestly. In these kind of matches they play their old more defensive style and I expect the same against Standard. Standard are on my list of teams not to keep a clean sheet and I took some on Charleroi +1 @ 1.901. I was really tempted to take a bit extra in BTC on Both Teams To Score @ 1.980 (price boost) on Sportsbet.io but I will skip on it.

Oostende vs Cercle Brugge

I previewed Oostende vs Cercle Brugge early this week with a main bet on the under. (see post).

I see a lot of similarities to the Stvv vs Oostende match where I was on the under. Cercle Brugge can be seen as a counter team in matches where they are not the favorite. (at home vs worse teams they play more offensive minded). Oostende will likely be aware of the counter dangers which often translates in a low risk forward approach having the intention to score but without willing to take any risk whatsoevever. I see this as a potential low scoring match and took pre-game bets on Under 2.75 @ 1.97 & 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.18

By now odds have dropped to 1.819 on the under 2.75 and 2.09 on the first half under at pinnacle which is always a nice confirmation. The odds on Oostende also went up quite a lot and have gotten to a point where they are tempting to take. Cercle Brugge did not manage to confirm their strong start of the season in the past 2 matches and I downgraded them in my personal rankings. Oostende are one of those teams that are very unreliable in what they bring though and can be both good or bad in any given match or at any given time during a match. They clearly came to take a point away against Stvv and did seem to have no real issue achieving that but were punished late losing that match 1-0. I am not yet willing to oppose the line movement and will be looking out for some live confirmations to get in.

Waasland vs Eupen

This is one of those matches where the line-ups will be key for me. I'm mostly watching for Pollet (who has been really bad for Eupen) and Ampomah (who has been excellent for Waasland). Waasland despite poor results has beaten the asian handicap this season while Eupen failed to do so. Eupen won both their last 2 matches, both somewhat flattering against the worst team in the league so far (Moeskroen 0-1) and at home against Standard who totally gave it away (2-1). My lean is on the over and the home team, but I will have to wait for line-up confirmation. Ampomah is key and he is listed on the bench in the newspaper.

Genk vs Anderlecht

This is the match to look out for. Genk despite being excellentonly broke even against the asian handicaps so far this season (mostly because of a couple unlucky draws). They did comfortably win all European qualif matches so far though and most of the profit was in them along with the over. I am watching out for them to get overvalued. They played 12 matches in 33 days and saw 17 players leave for international duties. One of their key players Malynovski on top will be suspended in this match. Anderlecht has not really convinced against the better teams and have some missings in defense(Bornauw, Lawrence & Vranjes). Key player Trebel had some issues with an injury and has played rather poorly the last 2 matches. Because of the many injuries, Anderlecht will likely play with a more offensive minded team. (Najar, Saelemaekers, bakkali, gerkens, dimata, santini all are more offensive minded players). I would not be surprised to see an offensive minded 1st half similar to Club Brugge vs Anderlecht. I took small bets on 1st Half Over 1.25 @ 2.052 and Racing Genk Team Total Over 1.75 @ 1.934. This is another match with a lot of livebetting potential and i'm already itching to get in big at some point :-)
