Binance and Malta Stock Exchange create a new crypto-stock exchange

Seize an opportunity as part of the Maltese ambition

The collaboration between Binance and the Malta Stock Exchange was signed on Tuesday, 11 September, through a memorandum of understanding between MSE President Joseph Portelli and Binance 's Finance Director Wei Zhou.

MSE's 26 years' experience as a regulated stock exchange should be beneficial for the new crypto-platform. The dynamism and international reach of Binance's business model will also be major assets.

"Binance is already established in Malta, the country will not let any opportunity for technological advancement," said Edward Scicluna, the Maltese finance minister.

"The Blockchain is revolutionary, it is a real change," he added. Moreover, Malta would be "crazy" not to enter the field of emerging technologies including cryptocurrencies and Blockchain.

Moreover, MSX PLC, the fintech subsidiary of MSE was launched specifically for this purpose.

A project of exchange of tokens of financial title type

The Maltese approach should lead to transparency and anti-money laundering efforts with adequately regulated technology.

Wei Zhou said Binance was delighted to contribute to the construction of a Blockchain ecosystem in Malta .

"This partnership will allow Binance and MSE to host traditional financial assets on a Blockchain technology through securities-style tokens. We look forward to bringing more innovations to Malta and to further establishing our presence there, "he added.

However, this is not the first agreement between Binance and MSE. The actors joined forces in June through a fintech startup accelerator program for Blockchain projects. Joseph Portelli, the CEO of MSE, then said earlier this month that the two companies had not signed any official agreement. They simply "agreed on the intention" partnership.
