At the Canal today, Male Common Eider

Male Common Eider

In Spring and Summer, I get A Duck's Life. Lounging in the water, waddle a bit, snag some food, maybe dive for a fish here or there... makes total sense. And some ducks? Head south.

These guys are idiots

It was biting cold, low 20's F, and winds about 40 knots. The canal was a few degrees above freezing, with ice all around. COLD whipping down the canal... o, WTF birds? What are you thinking in this cold?


This Male Eider will be another of my new coasters for sale in my Bird Coaster series.
