Animals and war... Martial law in our country began to act this morning

Animals and war - this is one of the most terrible topics when we talk about the protection of animals. I never thought we would face it so closely, but it is. Four years ago, Russia attacked our country and since then hostilities have taken place in the east. At first, we thought that Putin would go further. Then my husband and I sat down for straight talk. My husband is hungarian and we had the opportunity to leave. But we have a huge number of animals and birds. And then I said: You can do as you want, but I will not move from our place without our animals, I will not leave them. He said: me too.

But first there was a revolution when President Yanukovych fled. And our first dog came to us from the war. It was our Myshko. Myshko was named in honor of Mykhailo Hrushevsky - ukrainian politician and historian. You may think that it is very strange - to name a puppy in honor of politician or something like that. I'll try to explain. Myshko has been found on Mykhailo Hrushevsky street in Kyiv one of those days of ukrainian revolution in 2014. Despite the threat to their own lives, people tried to help abandoned puppy. Unfortunately later the boy who took care about Myshko was injured. When Russia attacked the east of Ukraine, the flow of animals from the war has not stopped. And what surprised me the most was how brightly the characters and values ​​of people were manifested! Some were ready to leave everything, but only take their animals with them. I know one large family that brought out all the animals, including horses. But we saw those who were carrying bales of things with them, leaving their animals to their fate. I will never forget the video where a woman ties a dog to a pole at the bus stop and does not want to take it with her. People shouted to her that there was a place in the bus and that she took the dog, but she did not want to. I will not talk about karma and about the fact that you have to pay for everything, let everyone make their own choice. Our soldiers often bring abandoned animals from the front. This is the act of real men and real people.

Why am I writing about this today? To this day, martial law operated only in the east of our country. This morning, after the Russian warship attacked the Ukrainian in neutral waters, martial law was introduced in all border areas except western ones. We do not know what will happen next. Will Russia attack or it will be stopped. But we know that we will not leave our animals.
