Ratel's photos #265 Forest Birds-207
The fieldfare (Turdus pilaris)
These very noisy birds come together in large flocks, which can consist of even other species of thrushes. Often they can be seen feeding on the ground, there they eat insects, and their favorite food - worms. This thrush on the photo fluttered right out from under my feet and sat down on the bush. He has a worm in his beak.
The white-backed woodpecker (Dendrocopos leucotos)
This fellow I saw near a small river at the slope of the hills. This female (pay attention to the cap) was very diligent in examining the tree fallen from strong winds.
Interestingly, I see this kind of woodpeckers only in late autumn, winter and spring. For the summer they go somewhere, and then return again.
