DHL Announces Partnership With Global Blockchain Trade Finance Platform TradeIX

DHL wants to partner with blockchain trade finance platform TradeIX, as indicated by an introduction today, June 5, at the Money20/20 conference in Amsterdam.

Becky Taylor, Vice President of Commercial at DHL Supply Chain UK and Ireland, talked about how the organization has been hoping to "make more effective systems" through digitization, including an approach to "serialize products to have the capacity to track that product through its life."

Taylor at that point declared the partnership by saying that DHL all alone "can't accomplish those kinds of financing rates to make an appealing price [for customers], so we began to work with Trade IX."

Daniel Cotti, CFO of TradeIX, noticed that the present absence of guidelines and interoperability in the trade finance markets makes separated trade frameworks that depend on "manual, expensive, dull, mistake inclined and obsolete procedures."

As indicated by the introduction, blockchain innovation can bring "more slender, more automated and mistake free procedures and expanded visibility." TradeIX's TIX platform will apparently enable DHL to "embed numerous funding and hazard free alternatives into their product advertising."

This isn't DHL's first invasion into blockchain tech – in mid-March, DHL and consulting firm Accenture reported they had mutually made a blockchain-based supply chain model for the pharmaceutical market.

In mid-May, the CEO of delivery service FedEx said that blockchain is the "next big thing" for worldwide supply chains.
