It is a TLDR / Short Form Series, covering ONLY that topic
It is specifically designed this way to keep it short and simple.
People can then search out extra info if they wish, or share this relevant info / company names with people to help show the growth, reality and legitimacy of $BTC/$XBT and cryptocurrency!
I've never seen a regular series or resource running on Steemit to continually address this basic need so I decided to do it.
Recent Market Facts/Stats:
We have been in a steady market decline for most of the last 130 days + days now, period, no sweet talking this.
Minor ups but mostly down since then.
Some recovery and consolidation lately = Good News!!
Here is the 1-year BTC Core chart showing our yearly and ATH on Dec. 17th, at $19, 840 $USD or so,.

BTC Market Cap Today: $152,495,542,989 USD USD - Down about $10B from last week in this series.
March was a RED month nearly the whole time, bleeding out everywhere, it has been ugly, no other way to say it.
1st half of April was no better.
With BTC (Core/Legacy chain only) crossing the $200B market cap just Dec. 5th, 2017 ago for the 1st time (aprx. 1:30 pm UTC time or 8:30 am EST) and with more countries relaxing rules for its use, it is a real thing.
This is real money in Crypto. Total Crypto Market Cap Approaching $1 Trillion!
2 weeks later (Dec. 19th, 2017, 2:50 pm EST) --- we literally crossed the $335B mark ... JUST for the one Bitcoin chain -- and we just crossed the total crypto market cap of HALF A TRILLION $$ around the same day.
The market contined to moon across all coins until around Dec. 21st when things started to correct. Total Market Cap had crossed the $830B range, it was amazing!
After many days of huge corrections market wide, the numbers were UP a few days in a row here but kept dipping again the past few days or so.
The last few ... weeks+ has been great for the entire market.
-- TOTAL Crypto Market Cap after another 7 days .... is Down (now) to about ~ .41 TRILLION. (5/10/2018)
-- Market Cap: $415,939,026,272 USD
-- meaning ~$415B. -- Down $35B / 7 days. -- UP Over ~$100B/21 days.
-- It is fun to write that out in "Trillion" form, & remind everyone crypto is serious money now.
BTC crossed the $300B market cap / 1st time on Dec. 8th, 2017 approx. 12:15 am UST/ or ~7:15 pm EST
Corrections the next while pulled that total number back below that as we know.
CMC.com charts have been down for most of the last month / many days, sorry. They have kinda sucked for awhile now!
If they are down I tend to use CoinCap.io , OnChainFX... or another.
1 Week BTC Chart:
BTC began the 2017 year at about $15.5B Market Cap and we have not included the forks of BTC in these numbers either!
BTC begins the 2018 year at $255B Market Cap.
~1 Year Bitcoin (Core/legacy chain) Chart: (BitcoinWisdom.com/Bitstamp - USD):
We are back to where we were in BTC on Nov. 23 to Dec. 3rd range or so, of last year, during the bull run, about ~150 days ago for highs and also the mid-Feb. 2018 high as well.
That is where I pinned the cross hairs if you can see it or open image in new tab to enlarge it.
-- With the $200 billion mark now long eclipsed, (except for these now extended Correction periods) - it's overtaken giants like Oracle ($201 billion), and major drug maker, Pfizer Inc. ($213 billion).
