CoinGate Might Get The Leading Edge
Its only a matter of time before more systems start to use lightning network for bitcoin and CoinGate seems to be one of the first to use it for their payment gateway.
Whats great about coingate is you can connect it up into just about any website and start accepting, buying and selling crypto. But with adding lightning network to their systems it will allow them to process micro transactions for very little fees.
Its a great move and one that might help CoinGate start beating out their competition. However it is up to us as website owners to accept such payments and allow it as an option for our products and services.
However Lightning network really is not user friendly at all which has been shown by the very slow adoption rate so far in the last 6 months. Within another year or two maybe even three this should change and lightning network and bitcoin should be streaming along nicely processing transactions faster and with lower fees then ever before. Early adopters however can benefit from this so if you down own a site I highly recommend adding it as an option to your sites asap.
