Meet Cryptocribs, a rental service that aims to decentralize Airbnb

in #bitcoin6 years ago

Airbnb is one of the most popular online property rental companies in the world, but unfortunately they do not accept cryptocurrencies. Now there is a new startup called Cryptocribs that provides a peer-to-peer short-term rental system that uses digital assets such as bitcoin Cash and ethereum for payments.

There is a new web portal called Cryptocribs that allows travelers to pay in bitcoin core (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) or Ethereum (ETH) for apartment rentals and short-term loft. The startup has said it also plans to integrate Monero in the future.

Cryptocribs is similar to Airbnb, but wants to be a home for all crypto nomads and perpetual travelers from around the world. The Cryptocribs business model was created by Erasmus Elsner, a UC Berkeley student in California. So far, Cryptocribs has been experiencing growth since its inception a few months ago, as the startup has included more than 1,500 hosts on the platform. Property rentals are available in the US UU., Europe, Australia, Asia and more, since the site offers a global map for each location.

"We want to offer a peer-to-peer solution for the trust problem inherent in renting apartments to strangers around the world. In the first stage, we plan to act as the trust center by hosting a Cryptocribs listing platform that only accepts cryptography. "," This platform will be commission based and will offer a reliable classification algorithm. The participating nodes, that is, the guests and hosts, have incentives to join and contribute to the network through commission rewards based on activity and review. " Explain the site.

Initially, Cryptocribs will act as a centralized platform as Airbnb operates, and in the future the startup plans to divide the different layers of intermediation into the rental process step by step. The firm says it is building a network of nodes based on blockchain that keeps the project transparent and reliable. "To achieve this, our goal is to join the best of the opening of Craigslist, the Airbnb trust system and the decentralization of the block chain," says the Cryptocribs roadmap.

Some examples of property rentals offered by Cryptocribs include a red-stone master bedroom suite located in Massachusetts, an eclectic apartment called "the artist's experience" in New York, a two-bedroom loft in Amsterdam and a parking area in the Greater London that includes maid. The configuration of the website can be alternated to establish the desired cryptocurrency in the payment category. In addition, there is a filter for the price range, dates, the number of rooms and bathrooms desired, and also the option between a private or shared room.

The team explains that the company will always house listings and act as mediator and escrow agent for rental contracts, but hopes to expand by building a decentralized and open platform for other developers to "build applications based on reputation."
