Can Bitcoin Be Both An Asset And Currency? Answer Is SHOCKING

in #bitcoin5 years ago

yeoboseyo guys,

So my girlfriend asked me about this Bitcoin thing I'm invested in and to be fair she is smart, she knows what I'm invested in because why not? And when someone asks you about something that means they care about you and I like to be transparent with people because again why not? So she asked me about,"how easy it is to buy and send Bitcoin if I want to?" And that made me think of something is Bitcoin more of an asset class like investment or a currency for people to exchange value.

What Is A Currency:

So we all know what a currency is but when you look at the definitions and compare them you get a different conclusion and answer so what is a currency, system of money that exchanges value for a product or a service OR a thing that has value and exchanged for other things that have value.

What Is A Asset:

Its a useful or valuable thing, person, or quality OR a appreciating thing with a promise of a future returns that is not liquid as currency, so its a class of the economy.

Is Bitcoin An Asset, Or Currency, Or Both:

Now based on the currency part, Bitcoin is a currency, some websites accept Bitcoin as a means of payment, some people accept Bitcoin for a service or product, people send Bitcoin to there families that live abroad or a friend. So in that regard 10/10 Bitcoin is a currency.

BUT is Bitcoin an asset? So Bitcoin is based on speculation not really on an evidence of its value; only thing determines value is how much people willing to buy it for whether 100,000US$ or 100US$, people buy an asset with the belief of a price increase in the future so when they comeback to it after 1,2,3 years they can expect a bigger demand for it and thus a higher Return On Investment, so in Bitcoin's case people do have the belief in price increases in the future BUT that comes with a catch, between people Bitcoin is regarded as a currency for means of exchanging values but on international exchanges scale markets well its regarded as an asset.

In Bitcoin, depending on who you ask, they will give explanations that its an asset and some will do for the currency part, but no matter how much the two groups fight to create the absolute definition, we need to look at different perspectives and understandings, just like a knife could cut vegetables and can too with fish, why can't they both work? Some people think its a natural instinct to divide things but the true value comes from within not from the outside war we are waging on each other.

Conclusion:

I believe Bitcoin is both an asset and a currency, we all want answers yet we don't ask the right questions that will give us the same outcome, people can be both good and bad, beautiful for some people and ugly to others, rich or not rich depends on people's point of view. At the end if something functions as two things we don't have to press on it not to be because that would make us absolutely not able to explain its true value and blessings.

Alot of work went to the post if you can vote it up it would be appreciated! If you follow me we do crypto content

I also believe Bitcoin is both a currency and an asset. That's how I understand it and for some people who doesn't understand how it works and how the technology works they won't see any value of it.

Very nice article. I understand the effort you put into however you have to build a number of followers for them to see this. There's too much competition in Steemit. I have 10500 followers but it was a hard work. You have to to engage a lot with other steemians. You can visit my blog and talk to the people their. Make some friends. If possible engage every day, go to their blog and leave a comment.
