I have to be honest, I was never a fan of Starbucks for no other reason then the prices. However I will now support them because of there decision to begin accepting Bitcoin!

Starbucks has partnered with Microsoft and ICE to set up a payment system to accept Bitcoin as payment for their products. The payment system is to be called "Bakkt" this consumer payment system will make it easy to use your Bitcoin to buy anything at Starbucks.

Bakkt will do more then let you pay for lattes, hopefully it will find its way into more business and even into 401ks.

This is huge news for Bitcoin adoption because one of the main stream complaints about Bitcoin is that you can not spend it anywhere. Die hard techies know that you can get a "Bitpay" card or a Coinbase "Shift", card to spend Bitcoin anywhere that accepts Visa but for the non tech people this is a huge step forward. We can also use Bitcoin to buy Amazon or other gift cards, but again not everyone know this. The added bonus of all of this is that if you spend Crypto as Crypto and the cost is under $600.00, there is no capital gains tax on your bitcoin.

Even though payment solutions are not news, a major consumer brand like Starbucks accepting bitcoin is huge for adoption!

As adoption grows so will the price, nothing is better for the price then adoption. Many experts predict that to replace the USD as a currency bitcoin must be worth $213,000. All of the above aside, simply put this is great news for Bitcoin and Blockchain as a whole.
