A Walmart Coin? Is It Real or Fake News?

in #bitcoin6 years ago

CryptoCoin.News came out with a “press release” today announcing Walmart Leaf, which is apparently Walmart’s new coin for ecommerce.

According to the press release the Walmart Leaf (WAL) will be an ERC20-based coin with a total supply of 1 billion.

The aim is to offer a new retail payment network service from fiscal year 2019 compatible with IoT and other new technologies.

It also says it has partnered with several top-tier cryptocurrency exchanges including Binance, Huobi, Poloniex and Bitfinex.

They even have a slick website which you can find here.

And you can already start “claiming” your coins. But what’s suspicious is the wire transfer and credit card options are ‘no longer available.’ But you can still send BTC or ETH. Very suspicious.

Plus, I can find a press release from Walmart.

It would be big news if it’s real, but it looks fake to me.

Hi g-dubs. Sounds fishy and a scam. They would be all over it with announcements. Would have big publicity and there is nothing.

Agreed... it would be big news though if it were real!
