Schiff has spent lots of time disparaging Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. But over that time, Bitcoin has increased in value to such a degree that he'd appear to be an idiot if he admitted he had been utterly wrong and mistaken. So, he just doubles down and pretends that he still holds the same views.
Not that he's a fool. He's very astute in many respects. At the same time, he has some outdated and simplistic views regarding the supposed wonders of the free market.
Here's a vid in which Schiff debates Eric Voorhees about Bitcoin being the future of money. Most people would agree that Eric demolished Peter.
Having watched this video and listened to his lame arguments, I certainly agree with you that Eric bashed Peter then, now, and always. Well, Peter is clever to have taken the path of Nicodemus, a secret disciple.

Actually, Peter is not a complete idiot, as he did predict the 2008 crash, and I believe even the dot-com crash. But when it comes to crypto ... well, all we can say is that he's an "incomplete idiot"!! ☺
