I hear people ask what the bitcoin distribution looks like...
Well now they have some very clear visuals:

Bitcoin distribution as of July 2019:
Roughly 72% of Bitcoin addresses carry 0.01 BTC or less.
Roughly 87% of the Bitcoin supply is held by 0.57% of addresses.
Yikes.

What do you mean?
I mean that the FBI holds huge amounts of BTC and may have significant amounts consolidated in a few addresses. Who knows what other US government agencies do as well?
Good point. The FBI mostly auctions off their bitcoins though... that is how Draper got all of his...

Yea, most of the coins seized have been auctioned off, at least from what I have seen.
