APAsia.Tech meets ExeBlock / PeerPlays - Founders informal 'pow wow' on the Gulf of Thailand

At a secluded spot along The Gulf of Thailand

Here at @APAsia.Tech we don't get VIP visits every day. So when Johnathan Baha'i, Founder of ExeBlock and PeerPlays blockchain (Steemit @jonathan.bahai, @peerplays ) touched base a few days previous to say he'd be stopping over in Thailand on the way back from the Graphene DevCon in Shanghai, we were delighted.

@murda-ra was planned to be there, unfortunately, on this occasion in the very deep middle of crucial client work - we had only this window, so Johnathan was left with yours truly, (Ross Walker, Steemit @britcoins, founder of @APAsia.Tech). So in the Toyota I hopped, pointed Maps at the remote location 100km down the coastline, and off I went.

Long chat over iced coffees

One-one is a good thing. We had a chance to take a long-form pow-wow and 'get to know you'. All centered around BitShares. I knew already I must let Johnathan Baha'i do the talking, his being in BitShares from day 1, running witness at various times, knowing personally founders and all-stars among Steem, BitShares and Graphene; I'd do well to just listen and learn from a Master. A great experience for myself and @apasia.tech to receive first-hand knowledge. Johnathan gave me his take on many aspects of BitShares, we discussed where it has been and where it is going, and how we can better collaborate throughout the eco-system.

Extending over an hour past our scheduled slot, felt like we just got started! Early on, Johnathan Baha'i asked about @apasia.tech story, which I kept brief; being founded April 2014, finding @murda-ra in the jungle, how we came to the BitShares community with a simple vision towards making BitShares better for everyone, ourselves included. So I stopped right there, and just said ...

"TELL ME ABOUT THE BUNKER!"

In brief, I learned that buying the bunker wasn't some eccentric folly. Originally making sense as leased space for relocation of his hosting business, the bunker threw all kinds of curve balls into Johnathan Baha'i (until then) smooth running operation. How he ended up owning it, reveals a riveting tale of business life, cheats and frauds by others, legal battles, local authority negotiations and more. (Here's a news story from the time). Johnathan's success story also has a great moral, about doing the right things, and how staying virtuous and upholding a good name in both business and personal life leads to success. Today, the bunker has all kind of plans I'm sworn to secrecy on - other than the fact all bodes well for the future of BitShares! Now just if I can figure out how to get over there for a tour ...

Pleasure meeting you Johnathan, and hope we get to do it again before long. APAsia.Tech are always honored to meet face to face with BitShares community founders and leaders.
