HeartBit

In the first part of this HEARTBIT series HERE, I did an introduction of the project, stating facts about the existing problems the decentralized platform has been created to solve and the innovative solution that HeartBit provides.

In this article, I will be shedding some light on how the platform works and in order to achieve this, I will be highlighting the actors in the HeartBit ecosystem and the products.

How It Works

It is important to note that the HeartBit device is not a medical device but rather a training device which according to the Whitepaper "utilizes a 3D-Bipolar ECG system which has already been integrated into a custom training garment". This allows the device to record user data with great speed and medical grade accuracy.

Example Use Procedure

Mr. Jim decides to adopt the HeartBit device for his work out and fitness routines bearing in mind the potential for getting incentivized by the decentralized ecosystem and also benefit from in-depth data report and analysis.

He connects the environmental sensor which can be charged and recharged using a designated power bank to the training garment.

The sensor begins recording data as soon as he puts on the garment. This recorded data is then communicated with the application via wireless. Mr. Jim then accesses his customs workout routines laid out through the application, with which he will be incentivized with HBIT tokens once completed.

Once the daily workout routines are completed, Mr. Jim gets his in-depth data through the user-friendly application. In a case where there is a potential for a cardiovascular disease or disorder, the HeartBit device is capable of spotting it long before obvious symptoms start to manifest them and this information along with the necessary data will be reported to Mr. Jim.

By using HeartBit Mr. Jim will be able to catch early any potential heart diseases he may be at risk of developing and then take proactive steps towards preventing it.

The HeartBit device and ecosystem offer Mr. Jim a lot of value as opposed to the normal fitness trackers which will typically just report to him his heart rate, pulse rate, distance covered and other related data after his work out routines without any in-depth or useful analysis.

The whole ecosystem is based securely on the blockchain, hosted on the IBM cloud and with a unifying layer of artificial intelligence and machine learning which is responsible for data analysis, building custom user profiles, creating custom workout routines tailored to the user's physical well-being and requirements. 

The most amazing part of this, aside from the fact that HeartBit offers the extensive analysis on data like medicinal intakes and medical background along with other bulk physical data, there are going to be premium services on offer through the platform opening up several businesses to a wider customer base. Experts like personal trainers, nutritionist and others in this field provide their services to users with premium subscriptions.

The Ecosystem

The HeartBit ecosystem includes the devices, the users and organizations which can be medical organizations, research organizations, insurance companies and sports wear manufacturers.

The users use the devices and get their data recorded on the blockchain, this data can be used to help the physicians provide better healthcare, it can also be integrated with their health insurance package to deliver better risk assessment and then acquire an incentivized and more accurate insurance package.
