I recently stumbled upon a news that two tech giants of cell-phone industry Apple and Samsung both have been fined in millions for deliberately slowing down their phones.

It was done by Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) and they issued statement that both companies were involved in this non-ethical practice. Whenever the new model is released these companies would just release new OS for the phone and force all the users to upgrade to that version. That updated version would include that lame piece of software that intentionally breaks performance of older phones.

Blockchain as a Solution:

I know everything cannot be implemented on Blockchain but it does provide some sort of transparency and audit of operational source-code.

HTC is currently involved in launching a crypto-phone called Exodus. Unique features they claim to offer are

• Allow the users to own their own identities, personal data and assets.
• Owning Your Own Keys

This is just a beginning and there are still some milestones left to uncover to achieve full transparency to cater Unethical Methods.
