SMARTCONTAINERS! Eliminating Temperatures Curtains

The word Smart container, is made up of two words: Smart and Container. Every day, we hear about smartphones and smart devices. And most times, we don’t really get the concept of their smartness. This is all because we don’t really know what makes them smart. I want to highlight those features that make a device smart and how it relates to the smart container project. What does smart mean? The main components of smart devices are their ability to connect to other device or other networks entirely through different wireless protocols. This wireless protocol can be Bluetooth, Wi-fi, and so on. The essence of this connections is for interactiveness and autonomy. Being connected alone, doesn’t make a device smart. What makes a device smart is its ability to provide valuable services which are trusted and are easy to use. For a smart device to be trusted, it has to be reliable to provide valuable services for which it is designed for.

What makes the project smart container?

The project is called Smart container because it will be able to network containers through the use of sensors to ensure effective logistics ecosystem. This is because IoT, is all about networking physical devices with software’s, sensors and these software’s and sensors enable these devices to connect and exchange data. The containers, used in the ecosystem, will be embedded with IoT for easy and swift connections. The connectivity of these containers will ensure that it is temperature sensitive and adapts to various temperature change during the course of logistics for good condition of shipped goods in the containers. These containers are going to be given an identifier name with which they can be kept track of in real time anywhere around the world to know when it has reached its delivery destination. The importance of IoT is enormous and its needed most in our world today where there is need for the connectedness of everything around us for easy monitoring from anywhere anytime.
