The Latest Celebrity-Impersonated Crypto Scam: Elon Musk

Elon Musk made #CryptoNews again, but unfortunately not under controllable circumstances. Scammers were able to hack existing verified accounts to impersonate the notorious entrepreneur and fake a Bitcoin giveaway which required sending your own BTC first. Here is the original post below -

At the time of reporting, the wallet had amassed about $170k USD and the Twitter account has been taken down. This ordeal stands as another example of Bitcoin being 'unhackable' yet susceptible to being wrongfully taken on weak centralized systems like existing social media platforms.

Hackers are quite clever and seem to impersonate anyone and everyone. Its unfortunate that people fall for these scams though. Its been said time and time again, never send crypto to anyone claiming that they will give you crypto. Also - I notice that these scams are often full of grammatical errors.
