Bitmain Valued at $12 Billion in New Funding Round
After a Series B funding Bitmain, the Bitcoin mining giant is valued at approximately 12 billion.
An anonymous sources reported the new financing is somewhere between 300 and 400 million. With leading investors including a Singapore government-backed investment fund, U.S. hedge fund Coatue as well as EDBI, and Sequoia Capital China.
Nearly a year ago Bitmain raised 50 million in a Series A funding led by Sequoia Capital China and IDG Capital.
Bitmain is currently conducting a pre-IPO funding round and could go public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in the future.
If this is true this will make BItmain another Chinese mining giant along with Canaan creative and Ebang Communication to file for IPO applications.
How do you guys feel? Bitmain being valued at 12 billion is crazy. I am not a fan of Bitmain and the centralization of bitcoin mining but I am glad to see Bitmain in the news it brings attention to crypto and hopefully in the future competition to BItmain
