Quarkchain Advisory Team Review: Excellent team and I'll explain why...

in #blockchain6 years ago (edited)

This article has been written with great enthusiasm about Quarkchain. All what has been written is my own opinion and is a result of conducted research. Don’t consider this as financial advice but merely as a perspective from a blockchain enthusiast.

If you're into Crypto, you probarly have heard about Quarkchain. A true potential candidate and solution for the blockchain scalability issue the world is facing today. But it’s never the idea itself, but the team that executes. And as Steve Job stated:

Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people. - Steve Jobs

Founder Qi Zhou is in my opinion highly capable to steer this project into victories and huge profit but it’s not only Zhou. It’s not only his core team. It’s also Quarkchain’s team of advisors that will play a huge part in it.

Countless articles are available about the tech behind Quarkchain and the project in general. For this article I have done research on the advisors. You can read why I think the advisors are such an excellent fit for Quarkchain. For an in-depth review read till the end or read the summery for a quick fix.

Summary

Quarkchain has an astounding team of great but lesser known advisors. Arun G Phadke is a true pioneer in creating scalable software with decades of obtained insight. Bill Moore has made it from operational level to CEO within the IT industry, a powerful advisor for growth development. Mike Miller has sold a successful scalable start-up to IBM, his insights in data management and data storage is of huge value. The investment insights of the experienced. Kevin Hsu and Leo Wang are highly valuable. Not only for attracting investors but also for guidance on business growth. With Zhiyun Qian at the table security will be maximized and vulnerability will be less. A great track record and great knowledge about infrastructure security and cyber defense. Always good to have a Blockchain Diligence Expert on the team. The fact that they put the early adaptor Andrew Lee on the advisory team is a signal that Quarkchain is also focusing on maximizing trust a reliability. Imagine what the power will be when those bright heads are in the same room debating about solutions and opportunities for Quarkchain.

Advisors

Arun G Phadke Ph.D

Phadke is a perfect fit for Quarkchain. Arun Phadke is a University Distinguished Professor emeritus in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Virginia Tech University. He has an amazing track record in the field of electrical engineering, author of several books and filed two patents. Phadke devoted his life to solving problems in the ever-growing electrical power industry.

What makes Phadke so good as advisor for Quarkchain? Back in the days Phadke partnered with James S. Thorp. This duo won the 2008 Benjamin Franklin Medal in Electrical Engineering. They received this medal because of their “pioneering contributions to the development and application of microprocessor controllers in electric power systems”. They developed software and hardware that was later widely used in the industry, a new kind of protective relay for diminishing the frequency and impact of blackouts.

Obviously, Phadke knows how to develop software that is capable for widespread use and mass adoption. Having such a pioneer in scaling software projects on an industrial level with such a track record on the advisory board is a true ace in the deck.

Bill Moore

This guy is a must-have advisor for every blockchain developer. Moore has a Master degree in Computer science and started his career as an engineer at Sun Microsystems, a global developer of IT-hardware and software. Moore has been involved in the development of storage management company 3Par and ZFS storage technology. Just as Phadke a guy who know how to scale up in the IT-industry. The decades of experience Bill Moore as a software engineer at start-ups and big companies makes him the ideal advisor. When Quarkchain will expand in the future, Moore will also be an excellent advisor for business development and organizational expanding.

Mike Miller

Miller is one of those people you better have on your advisory board, especially when you are a tech start-up. According to his LinkedIn, Miller is General Partner at Liquid 2 Ventures, a venture fund focused on early stage technology investment. Some of his personal areas of expertise are machine learning/AI, infrastructure, enterprise software. Miller is also the co-founder of the successful start-up Cloudant. Cloudant specializes in cloud-based data storage and has been bought by IBM in an early stage for 1bn dollars.

What makes Miller so perfect for Quarkchain? Obviously, Miller have the know-how to build a scalable tech start-up focusing on data management and data storage. They developed software that is capable of host tens of thousands of applications. Not a big suprise that Quarkchain has offered this guy a seat at the table. Oh, and he is also into particle physics. He even played with data at Brookhaven National Lab and CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.

Kevin Hsu

Kevin Hsu is a great choice and probably the right guy for attracting large investors to Quarkchain. With a Master Degree in Computational Science and Machine Learning from UCL, he knows the tech infrastructure behind of Quarkchain and the huge potential it can have. Hsu worked as an ETF product data scientist at Credit Suisse and is now founder of BlockVC, a venture capital firm that focus exclusively on blockchain startups. As stated on the website he has invested over 60 blockchain companies around the world. Examples are VeCHain, LIQUID, Origin, Odyssey and IoTex.

Leo Wang

Wang started his career at Huawei as a product manager. Now he is the Founding Partner of PreAngel, a large in Beijing-based investment fund focused on early-stage internet start-ups. What makes the involvement of PreAngel in Quarkchain so good? PreAngel provides guidance in start-up orientation, business model refinement and industry resources. As we look on their website (which is written in Chinese) you’ll see that they have a great portfolio. But not only internet start-ups but also blockchain project such as NEO, Arcblock, Ontology, Zeeping and others. What does this mean for Quarkchain? This means that with PreAngel on the advisory board Quarkchain have access to a great source for feedback on business development, tech development and organizational expanding.

Zhiyun Qian

Between the Co-founders and CEO’s of tech companies and capital firms on the board there is Zhiyun Qian. This mastermind is an expert in cyber security which is co-owner of several granted patents. He has written many publications on topics such as mobile internet security, spamming, online privacy. Qian is an assistant professor in Computer Science and Engineering department at University of California Riverside. He is the Sherlock Holmes of cyber security and well-known for finding vulnerabilities in Android Security and Infrastructure Security. He is the guy that will support Quarkchain in building the Chinese wall into the blockchain, detecting weak spots and provide the right knowledge to strengthen the security.

Andrew Lee

In all honesty, there isn’t much information about the Blockchain Diligence Expert of Quarkchain. There are many Andrew Lee’s to be found, but no one represents himself as an expert in blockchain diligence. But adding an blockchain diligence expert onto your advisory board is very good move and one that you don’t see often. Why is having a blockchain diligence expert a good move? Because in this Wild Wild West called the crypto-space, who is trustworthy and reliable? In this era were scams are happening every day maximizing the level of trust and reliability are two success factors. Having a diligence export on the team is great solution for this issue. The only conclusion I can draw about Andrew Lee is when he is in crypto since 2013 he knows where to look at and give Quarkchain a proper insight based on experience.

Thank you for reading, in the future I am planning to write more reviews on advisory teams and core teams as well for new ICO’s. If you like this post please leave a thumb behind and subcribe to my steemit.
