Cooperating with National Cyber Security Institute to Set up Research Center, EcoBall Cryptography Technology Meets International Leading Standard

On June 26, 2018, the EcoBall Project team has come to the National Cyber Security Institute of Wuhan University, and unveiled the “Cryptography and Blockchain Technology Joint Research Center” together with Professor He Debiao, which marks the beginning of three-year official technical cooperation with Wuhan University. The research center focuses on the development of cryptography theory and application subjects in the blockchain, adding momentum to the application of blockchain cryptography technology.

Located in Hubei province, it gathers talents all over the world. As the leading double tops” university directly under the Ministry of Education of China, Wuhan University has been always leading the construction of information security in China, among which the National Cyber Security Academy was directly approved by Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Education. In September 2017, it became the “National Demonstration” for the cultivation of high-level talents in China’s network security.

He Debiao, professor of the National Cyber​Security Institute, doctoral supervisor, and “Luojia Youth Scholar” at Wuhan University, is a scholar who has been deeply involved in research fields such as cryptography, cloud computing security, and blockchain security. He plays a leading role in constructing “Cryptography and Blockchain Technology Laboratory” and has established a team of high-quality talents specified in research and development and results transformation in the field of cryptography and blockchain technology, including 9 senior professors, 8 doctoral students and 11 graduate students. The team has published many academic papers on the application of cryptography in the field of blockchain, and has been included in many of the world’s leading academic journals such as SNC, IEEE TIFS, JNCA, SOCO, etc. Team members have played a role either as editors of international academic journals, or as a special guest of the China Cryptography Society to do academic research. The academic strength of the team has played a pivotal role in international cryptography research.

Professor He Debiao, the backbone of the team, has completed 10 key academic projects in the past five years, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Doctoral Fund Project of the Ministry of Education, the Natural Science Fund Project of Hubei Province, the open project of National Key Laboratory of Information Security, and the open subject of Key Laboratory of Network Security and Cryptography of Fujian Province. Professor He Debiao has visited EcoBall project R&D headquarters several times to have a discussion with EcoBall technical team on how cryptography is used for blockchain technology, how blockchain technology can open up new ideas for cryptography research, and combine theoretical knowledge with technical practice so as to promote the integration and development of both parties.

The two parties discussed the content and goal of the later stage.

The cooperation will start from the two aspects to develop and research cryptography applications in blockchain: the design and development of cryptographic algorithms in blockchain system; the design and development of hardware wallet security solutions.

  1. Cryptographic Algorithm

In the direction of the cryptographic algorithm, both parties will cooperate with the implementation of the security system design and analysis of the blockchain system, as well as the design and implementation of related cryptographic algorithms. The EcoBall team will be responsible for the overall design and coding implementation of the blockchain security system. The lab team will participate in the security system design from a cryptographic security perspective and be responsible for the design and implementation of the cryptographic algorithm.

  1. Hardware wallet

In regard to the hardware wallet, the two parties will conduct research on the development of mobile wallet transactions, hardware wallet system design and hardware wallet and mobile APP. The EcoBall team will be responsible for the overall design, coding implementation and product application of the wallet security solution. The lab team will work with EcoBall to design a wallet security solution and assit to support solution design and key technology research.

In the process of rapid development of blockchain technology, EcoBall is committed to building an open, compatible and versatile blockchain operating system. Its six core technological innovations will bring blockchain technology to a new level.

  1. Freemium Strategy. EcoBall adopts a strategy to allows users to access EcoBall with no charge by mortgaging ABA and reward nodes so as to encourage participants to contribute to EcoBall for the long run.

  2. Multi-chain Parallel Mechanism. Genesis Ball can lead out multiple main chains. Each main chain is responsible for specified business fields in independent and interrelated way.

  3. Parallel Side Chain Mechanism. In traditional mode, all data is recorded on the main chain, which results in information overload on the main chain. EcoBall uses side chain to record subsidiary data in parallel and records the final result to the main chain. Consequently, it increases the load on the main chain and helps to trace the information easily.

  4. Cross-chain Mechanism. The EcoBall can realize fast communication between other chains based on the Ecoball System. Meanwhile, EcoBall can interconnect between the Ecoball and other chains.

  5. Decentralized Data Storage Network. EcoBall encourages people with storage space and retrieval capabilities to participate in the storage plan and participants will receive rewards proportionally. More nodes involvement can greatly increase storage space.

  6. Domain DPOS Consensus Mechanism. In EcoBall system, a single node is responsible for data packaging, and other nodes are in charge of verification. In combination with the DPOS mechanism, random rounds of output blocks form blockchain network.
