HoloChain / Alternative to the Blockchain?
A few weeks ago, at the suggestion of a friend, I have tried to catch up with everything related to blockchain, I have been trying to research and learn about this innovative technology that is revolutionizing the world, and around which innumerable projects based on this technology, from social networks, blogs, games, data storage system and a long etc.
The world of technology is advancing rapidly at such a rapid pace that we have to be wide awake and attentive so as not to miss any progress. If we see it from that point of view, it is possible that right now there are thousands of projects in technological "laboratories" that are about to be revealed in the coming days, weeks, months or years, leaving behind projects that in their time revolutionized the environment technological.
What comes after blockchain?
Days ago, reading the post of my friend and in response to a comment of his I came across the word HoloChain, immediately called my attention and I began to investigate this alternative that takes some time developing, and that according to some say is a similar alternative to the Blockchain but with improvements ..
Based on the research and surely you experts in the field can help me with my doubts about this emerging technological alternative. I want to share with you some questions that come to my novel "technological mind":
Many people are calling it an improvement over blockchain technology and there have also been claims that it can handle 1 billion transactions per second.
Based on the fact that we live in a changing world and that technology is developing by leaps and bounds, we can think that this is a project capable of overcoming blockchain technology, until now a revolutionary idea in the development of crypto assets.
Will the HoloChain replace the blockchain?
In blockchain technology, all nodes in the network are connected and all these nodes in the network have to work together to achieve consensus. HoloChain is able to differentiate itself from the block chain by using "hashchains". The Hash chain itself is an older technology of computing in which a digital signature called "hash" is used to verify the data.
The blocks in the HoloChain are independent and have their own hash chains. The HoloChain nodes do not depend on the consensus of other nodes for the validation of the data. The independent HoloChain network helps address one of the main problems of the blockchain, scalability.
With these differences the developers of this project present the HoloChain as a system that exceeds with creses deficiencies that for them exist in the chain of blocks, attributing to this technology much more speed and efficiency than the current chain of blocks.
The founders of the project said:
"Holochain as an application framework does not have a limit on transactions per second, because there is no place to store them. This is the same as asking "How many words can humanity speak in general per second? "This is an irrelevant question. Every time a new baby is born, this number will increase, which is the same principle as for Holochain. "
My next question is: Is the HoloChain a better alternative than the blockchain?
Currently, the price of the Holo Token is $ 0.0016. The number of tokens that have been issued is 133,000 million, while the total offer is 177,000 million. The market capitalization is 223 million, which is impressive considering that it is listed on CoinMarketCap just one month ago.

It is true that the HoloChain is an incipient technology, and its tokens still do not reach the standards, popularity and value that the current cryptocurrencies.
In particular, I find it hard to believe that it exceeds a blockchain technology that is already rooted and growing. I think that it will be a long time for that to happen, but just as I am not and I do not intend to be an expert on these issues, I only bring this to you hoping that some people with knowledge and more experience in similar topics, to clarify doubts about this, which leads me to my other question:
Can the holo token, or holographic token to blockchain-based coins?
I want to make clear that with this post I'm not pretending to be an expert on topics like this, what I'm looking for with this post is to be able to find more information about the subject, that experts join and in that way I can educate myself more in everything related to this type of technology. I would love to know not only your opinion, but that you can give me your contribution of knowledge that you handle of HoloChain.

In the moment we accept this approximately 3 seconds a transaction need at steemit to proceed, but will be this also in future when we have quicker possibilities ?

Hello my dear @achim03, thanks for such a generous comment, the world is moving forward without stopping and the technology is developing at high speed that often makes it difficult to keep up.
It is necessary that we are attentive to this new alternative, to see how it evolves and if it is able to position itself as the Blockchain has done. From what I see it is relatively new and many still do not have full knowledge of it.

I am unable to understand about security of network. Billion transaction does not mean anything if network can be attacked.
Dear @r1s2g3, I totally agree with you and it is the things that the creators of this project should improve if there is any way to do it.
I am not completely sure of the implications of this information or what level of security this DNA security measure represents, the truth of the matter is that if it does not offer a level of security more efficient than blockchain, it would be falling short of improvements. Even so, the advance that this technology represents is very significant.

Hello @fucho80 i only got to know about holochain through this post of yours and from the little that i have gathered from your post the individual nodes of a holochain run seperately and can even validate transactions that are broadcast unto the network without the approval from all the other nodes. Do you think this is safe as some unhonest nodes can harm the network? Or is there a feature that safeguards against this.

I'm not sure there is a feature that has protection over this. In fact one of the deficiencies of HoloChain according to my research is security. HoloChain has improvements in terms of transaction speed but security is not the best, however it is to highlight the advances in this system.
Particularly I think that if the creators of this project want it to be successful, one of the things that should improve is security, obviously if that is possible, if there is any way to improve security while maintaining the speed of transaction and other innovative features with respect to the blockchain then this is the future.
On the other hand, the purpose of this article is to generate a discussion about a little known technology, to obtain more knowledge about it and thus determine if it is convenient to use it or not.

Dear @lanceman, technological advances do not stop, so there is a need to update constantly about new projects that emerge in order to improve or overcome what already exists.
Humanity is focused on achieving independence from centralized systems, to get more security in transactions so that we have more freedom of movement. Thinking about that we must be alert to any innovation.

Indeed this is quite true of the cryptoworld. Everything is growing at an incredible pace and it is to be seen if there would opportunities to integrate different projects, take the best qualities use them as building blocks and build something quite new and revolutionary.
Holochain and the concept is familiar and revolutionary at the same time.
in a lot of ways it seems like technology seems to come a full circle and incorporating older and more conventional concepts into its fold.
