A REPORT ON THE BLOCKCHAIN SATURDAY EVENT
Last Saturday was Blockchain Saturday and I am glad I attended the meetup. It started with me locating the venue at the prestigious University of Ibadan. I met @mosunomotunde and @agbona at the entrance of the venue and she gave me a warm and comfortable hug. When I entered, I saw familiar faces and greeted them by calling them by their names. They were surprised and when I mentioned my name, they screamed with excitement. I felt like a celebrity for a while.
The event eventually started with the eloquent and beautiful MC, @sushie. She first introduced the speakers then we were asked to introduce ourselves. After the introduction, she invited the first speaker to the front - @agbona.
@sushie
He came to the front and the projector was put on to help introduce the beam project to us. It is another beautiful project on the Blockchain, it gives you complete control over your privacy. Even your transactions are private. I paid attention to him because it was the first time I heard about the project.
@agbona
After his presentation, @marshalllife came forward to start with Horizen. Before his speech, he connected us to Rolf, the co-founder of the project. He spoke to us and asked us to be a part of the project.
Rolf
Aagbona and Emmanuel from Digital Abundance asked Rolf questions and he answered them. After, @marshalllife gave a brief presentation to support Rolf's presentation then talked to us about Enumivo project. Enumivo is a fork of the EOS and provides UBI to a member of Republic of Enumivo. More questions were asked and he diligently answered them all.
@marshalllife
The next speaker was @bookoons, the community manager of @yensesa. She talked to about Yensesa - the wallet, exchange, Y! Power and the loan part of the project. She demonstrated how the features can be used. She answered every questions asked about the project.
@bookoons
@florae came up to talk to us about agricblock. A blockchain project about agriculture with the aim of getting rid of middlemen between local farmers and the market. It was an educating and wonderful presentation.
@florae
Thanks to @mosunomotunde for the drinks and juicy doughnuts. You really need to see the way sister @gracehills munched his doughnut, it felt like the doughnut was his last supper. Anyway, back to the meetup. The next part of the event was the hot seat section with @pangoli and tojukaka and anchored by @jotmax.
From L-R: @tojukaka, @jotmax and @pangoli
@jotmax asked them lot of questions which were answered correctly to the audience's delight. The few points that stuck in my brain are:
Blockchain is like a house and bitcoin is like a content.
Blockchain can be likened to a book. The leaves are the Blocks and the binder is like the chain that holds the blocks together - Blockchain.
@pangoli explaining blockchain using a book
Emmanuel, from Digital Abundance and Cryptohub, gave the final presentation on: Start, Survive and Succeed with Blockchain. He talked about the kind of money, a brief illustration on blockchain and bitcoin and Cryptohub. He speaks quite good and fluent, I was awed with his diction.
Emmanuel
After Emmanuel's presentation, @sushie announced that there would gifts for people that participated the most during the presentations. @marshalllife came out to give out branded Enumivo and Horizen T-shirts. You need to see our Blockchain Pastor, @stevenmosoes, hustling for T-Shirt.
@marshalllife
After the freebies, we took lot of pictures and interacted with the wonderful people around. The pictures came out well, the photographer did well.

It was great seeing @gbindinazeez (Brands ambassador, @oredebby, @scarletmedia, @gracehills (sister Grace), @daniel-otaniel (bearded man, @honourmaus, @benie111, @heeyahnuh and many more. I look forward to another Blockchain Saturday.
