Ukraine tests the NEM Blockchain in its electoral system

in #blockchain6 years ago

NEM recently declared the possibility of using its Blockchain in the Ukrainian elections. One of its Blockchain modules was used during a pilot project from the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine.

Ukrainian electorate takes advantage of Blockchain

It is on the social network Facebook that the chief of the register of CEC, Oleksandr Stelmakh, urged its many contacts to participate in an electronic "test vote" thanks to a module using the Blockchain, set up in partnership with the NEM Foundation this Tuesday, August 7th.

"One of the important basic features of the Blockchain is the inability to make changes to saved information ... It is this property in question that we have tried to use to record all voting information at a local level. Stelmakh said.
Regarding the choice of the platform, "it must be taken into consideration that this experiment takes place in a test environment, itself based on the NEM blockchain. The NEM crypto-tests used were graciously provided by the representative of the NEM Foundation of Ukraine, Anton Bosenko. It takes 28 knots to build a viable network for this pilot project, says Oleksandr Stelmakh.

A reasonable cost to preserve important data

In order for the elections to be held, Stelmakh estimates that it would take about $ 1,227 to place a knot in each polling station. This is a lower price considering the sensitivity of the information collected.

Participation in polls using "test chips" is still open to the public, recalled the head of the register of voters of Ukraine.
The grievor's work is the final effort to apply Blockchain technology in counting a ballot. Nevertheless, it might be possible to meet the large register distributed during the final countdown.

The Blockchain is a proxy voting tool, the shareholders of a company can for example deliberate on business matters safely.

This is a new victory for NEM. His cryptocurrency has recently been listed on Kuna Exchange, a crypto-exchange based in Ukraine. The latter allows the trading of cryptocurrencies and the exchange against the local fiduciary currency, the Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH).
