At 1:55pm GMT + 8, Tezos is $1.68 USD or 0.00025918 BTC.

That's over 26.03% recent gains and slightly lower than the 28% high reached earlier today!

And while most of the top ten cryptos are bleeding, Tezos is in the green; rising well above the four other gainers (Litecoin, Tether, Monero, and Binance Coin) in the top twenty.

Most agree that this sudden spike was because of this...

On Monday, September 17, 2018, Tezos beta period of the network is officially finished.

Then the protocol becomes operational in their own, full mainnet.

Tezos introduced its beta network in June, calling the move an “inflection point” for the project.

From that point on, users could begin validating blocks or “baking” after the first seven cycles.

Tezos' is a blockchain project that aims to offer "the world’s first 'self-amending' cryptocurrency".

Its 2017 initial coin offering raised $232 million, the largest for such an offering to that date.

Early on, the Tezos project attracted some major public criticism - mainly over its fund raising practices; resulting in a few class action suits.

The project further was crippled by in-house bickering at the top management level.

Arthur and Kathleen Breitman, the co-founders of the project who own Tezos’ intellectual property rights and Johann Gevers, who controlled the raised funds fought so much that resulted an indefinite delay of the platform launch.

But all of that plus the myriad threats by the SEC of a shut-down and seizure of funds are now resolved.

The SEC, the owners, and the Tezos comptroller are no longer embroiled in lawsuits.

This is because in June of this year and in spite of protests from the Tezos community, Tezos announced the implementation of Know Your Customer/Anti-Money Laundering (KYS/AML) checks for contributors, especially for customers participating in announced ICOs.

Given the rise in Tezos, it appears that the community and the public seem to have forgiven that decision too...
