We understand the current Internet

As you know, the Internet can use multiple protocols at different levels. At the network level, the most important protocol is the Internet Protocol (IP). Each online server has an IP address to access it. The Domain Name System (DNS) maps IP addresses to human-readable addresses, such as seele.pro.

There are two main protocols in the transport layer: TCP and UDP. TCP is to ensure that the recipient receives all the data. UDP does not care at all. After the data transmission is completed, the task is completed for UDP. When your network is unstable, you will experience some packet loss.

People who benefit from the Internet today are not contributors to the Internet. Most of the value is either captured by resource monopolies such as ISPs or service providers like Facebook. Most users are at the mercy of larger players, and the value created by networks and communities is absorbed by the minority

What's wrong with the blockchain now?

Currently, all blockchain architectures suffer from many of the same scalability problems inherent in original blockchain technologies such as Bitcoin. Using standard consensus protocols such as PoW or PoS, there is a direct trade-off between transaction throughput/cost, network security and node dispersal. Blockchain cannot extend transaction throughput without sacrificing the highly desirable nature of security and fragmentation.

How to increase the scalability of blockchain?
In the blockchain, nodes are responsible for verifying transactions on the network, and all nodes must validate all incoming transactions. This raises three main issues:

  1. The blocks used by newer blockchains are getting shorter and shorter to increase the speed of network validation. This means that the delay of the node becomes more and more serious, and as the number increases, the overall consistency between the nodes is reduced. It is difficult to prevent double-flowering or accidental bifurcation in a network with a short time and a large number of nodes.

  2. As the participation network increases (in units of Tx/s), the nodes will be responsible for verifying more transactions, and then they can reasonably communicate with each other. This also increases the potential danger of cyber attacks.

  3. As the number of nodes in the network increases, the delay between these nodes increases in logarithm, which is a heavy blow to its own scalability. In an ideal system, the delay will remain constant or even decrease as new nodes increase.

To overcome these problems, different projects have taken many different approaches to deal with network consensus. For example, NEO can currently provide thousands of transactions per second on its network, but the number of nodes on the network is very small, and these nodes are centrally controlled. An example of an objection method is Ethereum, whose ASIC anti-PoW consensus and tens of thousands of broadcast nodes provide excellent security and decentralization, but at the cost of processing only about 15 transactions per second. Cardano, EOS, Icon, and Wanchain all use modified PoS algorithms that require centralized control of nodes to accommodate the transaction scalability required by these systems.

What is Blockchain Internet?

Seele's idea is to solve this problem in a comprehensive way. If their vision is successful, Seele's agreement will become the backbone of a new generation of Internet - this is a value Internet powered by a new generation of blockchains.

Cross-Chain Communication (Heterogeneous Forest Network)

Seele aims to value the Internet and their solution is the forest blockchain structure. In short, this is a super blockchain, as a layer that exceeds all other blockchains and builds a forest. Each tree is its own blockchain, but they are linked via metachains.

Heterogeneous forest networks consist of different subnets. Each subnet can be viewed as a hierarchical tree, which can handle different business scenarios independently and interact with each other through cross-chain protocols.
Consisting of different subnets, each subnet can be viewed as a hierarchically partitioned tree. The chain at the top of the tree is a global service chain, called the "meta chain," which provides global configuration and scheduling services. From this point onwards, it is a chain of various business forms, which are divided according to different business scenarios, isolation mechanisms, and performance overheads, and are divided down by layers. The upper layer provides addressing and scheduling services to the lower layers.

With its new protocol and heterogeneous forest architecture, they plan to establish a simple and effective way to communicate and share value across various blockchains.

Communication Protocol (Fast Value Internet Connection Protocol, Transmission Protocol and Value Application Protocol)
Seele aims to invent new protocols that connect blockchains to the Internet and facilitate communication between different blockchains. Compared with existing protocols, these protocols are designed to be more suitable for blockchains.

Seele calls it Value Transfer Protocol (VTP). Instead of IP and DNS, the metachain handles the registration and location of resources within the forest (blockchain network).

At a lower level, the blockchain does not have to rely on UDP or TCP, but can use the Value Internet Transport Layer Protocol (QVIC). The QVIC is optimized for the blockchain, so for example, the package size is not arbitrary, but it matches the block size of a given chain.

Seele also proposed another protocol: Value Application Protocol (VHTTP). This protocol allows the upper application to interact with the blockchain. The seamless integration of VHTTP and HTTP creates a portal to the old world.

The VTP protocol covers the unified identification of assets on the chain. The routing strategy for asset search is a complete set of transmission protocols for blockchain value networks. Used to resolve the pain points that cannot be effectively transmitted between blockchain networks. VHTTP facilitates cross-chain access for upper-layer applications and draws on the traditional Internet's HTTP protocol. The transport protocol achieves the value exchange between the chain and the chain, in the chain and out of the chain.

Network infrastructure
Seele's new network infrastructure is built entirely on scalability and enhanced security. They plan to achieve efficient resource consumption by isolating them. Because their protocols are based on established protocols, low-level network hardware should not have problems.

We will wait for the Seele team to publish detailed information to understand how they are innovating in this area. In their white paper, they have referenced a test cluster of 1.000 nodes, indicating that they are ready for the future.

Consensus algorithm (neural consensus algorithm)

Let's take a look at some of Seele's competitors and see how their consensus algorithms stack up.

Seele uses the evolutionary algorithm of the Byzantine protocol to make it more powerful without sacrificing performance.

Seele created the "neural consensus algorithm." It translates consensus issues into asynchronous requests and processes and categorizes data in a large-scale environment based on "microreal numbers." It not only ensures safety and low energy consumption, but it also ensures strong linear enhancement capabilities. As the node size increases to meet business requirements, performance will linearly accelerate.

This new algorithm works asynchronously, so it can be heavily parallelized because nodes do not have to agree on each block immediately. Instead of reaching a consensus after each block, it is better to gradually establish a consensus within a certain period of time.

Seele meta chain does not rely on proof of work, nor does it rely on equity certificates. On the contrary, block builders will be randomly selected. This also makes sibyl attacks difficult to implement and the nodes easier to operate.

Applied ecosystem
If this can be achieved, this should yield new ways of how many new blockchain ecosystems evolve and develop. Seele aims to build a bridge between the blockchain and the "old world"

There is a huge competition in the current "blockchain Internet" ecosystem. Seele's unique advantage is that the larger the network, the higher the scalability and security. Seele hopes to build a new protocol for blockchain Internet, with blockchain 4.0. Connect to the entire outside world and create a truly valuable blockchain internet.
