MobileBridge Momentum Branded Tokens Are The Future Of Loyalty Programs

in #blockchain6 years ago

It's a cold and wet spring day in Tokyo, the perfect day for ramen. Akari frequently visits a number of local ramen shops and her decision is mostly based on which is the closest. Today she finds herself equidistant from three different ramen shops

All three are similar in price, specialize in Shio ramen, and have wait times that are approximately the same. Before making her decision Akari consults her phones navigation one more time just to make sure that she isn't missing one.

As she types ramen into her navigation app she receives a notification from one of the three shops, Hototogisu. The notification lets Akari know that today the shop is offering 15% off because of their 15th anniversary. It also lets her know that they are now taking part in a loyalty program that includes two other restaurants in the neighborhood and allowed her to opt in with a single press of a button.

The loyalty program and coupon raised Akari's interest so she decided to make her way to Hototogisu for lunch. When she arrived and sat down a waiter appeared and greeted her by name. Although her menu was already provided the waiter informed Akari of specials and toppings that might be of interest to her.

MobileBridge Momentum Gets To Know You

This sounds like a strange science fiction movie where everybody can read Akari's mind. In reality, Akari has allowed MobileBridge Momentum to simplify her life. By sharing her personal data, browsing habits, shopping trends, geographic patterns, and completed survey questions Momentum is able to create a dynamic and fluid profile of Akari.

MobileBridge Momentum is a blockchain based loyalty and marketing project that takes users data, analyzes the data, and allows businesses and brands to access this data to create personalized experiences for consumers.

For sharing these information consumers are rewarded with Momentum tokens (MMTM) and custom branded tokens that are created by businesses.

In this scenario, MobileBridge Momentum captures Akari's attention during a mobile moment, which is the moment when she is most receptive to suggestion. Momentum used Akari's data history and geographic location to provide her with a notification that was relevant to her current status.

Not only was she provided with a great recommendation but Akari also received MMTM tokens for preapproving the ramen shop to access her data and she has received custom branded RAMEN tokens for opting into Hototogisu's loyalty program.

In addition to the rewards that Akari has already received (and a discount), she was provided excellent customer service and personalized recommendations based on her previous order history at similar shops.

Spectacular Ramen

The ramen is delicious and Akari wants to make sure everybody knows about this place. After paying she rates the restaurant and leaves a personalized review. She also a photo on Instagram of her ramen and lets her friends know how great it was.

For both actions, Akari is rewarded with additional RAMEN tokens. All of her friends that are users of Momentum also receive invites to opt into the Hototogisu loyalty program. For each friend that opts in Akari once again receives RAMEN tokens.

Akari Has So Much RAMEN

At this point, it seems that Akari has racked up a large amount of RAMEN. She checks the app to see what she can do with these tokens and finds out that the loyalty program is in conjunction with multiple other businesses including an izakaya restaurant and a Shabu-Shabu shop. Her RAMEN tokens can be exchanged for food and discounts at all of them.

Goodbye Tokyo

After six months in Tokyo, Akari takes a new job in Kyoto. She has amassed a huge collection of RAMEN tokens and she finds out that no shops in Kyoto accept them.

Luckily for Akari, she can trade RAMEN tokens for MMTM tokens on the MobileBridge exchange. MobileBridge tokens can then be exchanged for any other branded token that is available or sent to a cryptocurrency exchange to be converted to fiat.

Why Trade Token For Token?

Why would Akari trade a RAMEN token for a SHIO (Kyoto ramen loyalty program) token when she could convert it to Yen and buy whatever she wants? This is a good question and the answer lies in the additional benefits offered by loyalty programs.

Akari can exchange her RAMEN for fiat and receive the equivalent of 10 bowls of ramen in Yen. However, if she converts RAMEN to SHIO on the MobileBridge exchange she will receive the equivalent of 20 bowls of ramen. This is because the SHIO loyalty network offers discounts based on loyalty.

Summary

MobileBridge AG is the parent company to Momentum and is already utilizing advanced marketing techniques to target consumers during the mobile moment. Adding the blockchain component called Momentum is helping the firm move into the future.

The ability to transact data and value securely and privately over the blockchain is a giant advancement for the firm. However, the ability to create custom branded tokens may be the catalyst for a paradigm shift in the way that loyalty programs are created in the future.

This piece rekindles my desire to visit Japan. Great usage of imagery.

I like how a standard platform for loyalty networks could make it possible for me to spend points earned at home during my tourist trip to Japan... ahh, some day.
