Vote For eosONO & Why We Recommend Using the Greymass Voting Tool

in #blockchain6 years ago

The day has arrived for you to vote for your EOS Block Producers. We are excited for this day, but realize that many of you will find the process too difficult to manage, especially trying to figure out which voting tool to use.

There are many existing EOS voting tools out there to choose from, in fact, it’s difficult to figure out which one is the best one, etc., and so first of all we recommend that you wait to vote until security audits have been done.

Yes, that’s right.

We recommend that you just wait until security audits have been done for the voting tools. If you’re really risk averse, just wait.

If you feel like you don’t want to wait to vote for your EOS Block Producers, we have made this recommendation post based on our own test.

The easiest, safest EOS voting tool we recommend for you to use is Greymass, based on a number of factors.

Use the open-source Greymass voting tool, which is actually software that you download to your computer. This is not a website, it’s software that you download.

STEPS

1. Here’s the Greymass download link from GitHub: https://github.com/greymass/eos-voter/releases

2. Here’s a tutorial on how to use the Greymass software: https://steemit.com/eos/@greymass/announcing-eos-voter-an-eos-block-producer-voting-tool-and-light-wallet

3. Here’s the Greymass Telegram channel where you can get live tech help: https://t.me/eoswalletgreymass

Why?

@stellabelle personally knows the developers of Greymass.

These developers are trusted in the blockchain space and she can vouch for their trustworthiness as she has worked with them. Jesta (Aaron Cox) and Anyx are the developers who created Greymass.

@stellabelle was able to successfully vote using the Greymass software.

The Greymass software has a Telegram channel where EOS voters can get live help from the developers themselves.

The software is not a website, so your private keys are never sent through your browser. You can encrypt your private keys in this software, so as far as security, it seems like a good option.

However, as we mentioned, we actually advise waiting, because no security audit has yet been done.

Greymass is also a Block Producer, but to be clear, there is no relationship between eosONO and Greymass. Stella was searching for voting tools and she found out via Fav that some trusted devs were making Greymass. She investigated it, tested it out, and was able to successfully vote for BP’s using Greymass, so this recommendation comes as a result of testing, that’s it.

Please use common sense, and if you feel at all uncomfortable learning a lot of new tech steps, we advise you to wait to vote.

We will explore other options, especially noob-friendly EOS voting tools as we test them out.

Thank you,

Thats a nice explanation.

Though I guess it would be wise for people to wait.
