Blockchain implementation expectations: I call for some reasonable skepticism

in #blockchain6 years ago (edited)

Last June Future Thinkers rolled out an article titled “19 industries the blockchain will disrupt” and supported it with a professional video

I was listening to the video’s high quality audial when it hit me that they were expecting “15 percent of banks to start using blockchain by the end of the year”. There are about 30,000 banks in the world, and it hasn’t come close to 4,500 of them using blockchain, not now, not within 12 month.

That is a real problem with blockchain commenters and journalists: fair projections of thends combined with overly optimistic time expectations. And, unfortunately, more then aggressive anticipations as new projects, their MVPs and adoption rates are concerned.

And here is me calling for your assistance. FT’s YouTube video has a list of projects mentioned below in description. You, my friends, are the ones who know everything – so please help me finding out which of those projects are still alive (and which have collapsed already). Did the publish any noticeable news recently?

This may be a nice way to calculate their survival rate on 1Y horizon, after all. The list is good enough to call it representative.
