the star tetrahedron (6 pointed star) is a symbol of balance and contains geometry used throughout the natural world. the fact that some groups claim it for themselves and project it as they abuse other people - is not evidence that the symbol itself is evil or that the geometry is evil.

all of the evil doers (most of them) have hands and noses too - but we don't leap to associate hands and noses with evil ;)

Well of course a symbol on its own is not evil. But because we know that there are nefarious orders that use these symbols and they widely display said symbols as a way to communicate (among other things) to one another. It stands to reason that one need look upon the use of the symbols with a scrutinizing eye. Excercising discernment of course.
