The blocktrades contest | An Exercise In Vulnerability: Introduction to a Novel

To begin, here is a small fraction of those who have greatly impacted my life since I stepped onto this platform- nearly two years ago to the day (November 28, 2016), who made me feel a part of something incredibly special, monumental and beautiful.

I know there are many amazing steemians who are deserving of this most generous offer by blocktrades, so why should I be among the eight who are chosen?

I gave this some serious thought. In the past I would have been more inclined to encourage others I knew were in need rather than put myself forward. The truth is, I've become one of those people in need of a boost, and seeing some of my posts make it into the double digits once more would certainly be a lift for my spirits at a time when I could really use it.

I have never used a bidbot or purchased any votes, I have instead been blessed by a great number of friends in the community who have supported my work along the way and vice versa. I've even developed some spectacular fans for my books for which I am unbelievably grateful! I've also never taken a 'break' from steemit, I have consistently posted between three and six times a week since I started here.

But in recent times the current market has taken its toll on all of us, and this is definitely reflected in the current rewards on my posts. And while I am a positive soul, I admit to feeling a wee bit discouraged as of late.

Whether I win or lose, I want to say thank you so much for this opportunity. Just knowing there are still large accounts out there that care enough about the community to do something like this is a fabulous thing! So thank you @blocktrades! And of course @anomadsoul for all that you do here. So much love for you.
