Giving Back a Little More

The last few days I have been working on various scripts to add value to both the STEEM and Vague Entertainment (@v-entertainment).

The first of these scripts is "CakeFS" a simple python script that looks for posts that have been manually curated by @helpiecake and that contain IPFS links. These links are snagged(pinned), bagged(shrugs), and tagged(local database entry: cover image, author, and steem permlink) on one of my personal servers to help with the distribution of these files via ipfs. The local database speeds up queries as the database will remain relatively small.

Currently only audio files from dsound.audio are supported as the posts they create on their site have direct links to the file on ipfs. However, plans for dtube and other platforms is in the works. The script can also create a report (sample) that can be turned into a post by the operators of the script.

Road Map

• Automatic post submission to a specific account.
• Manual additions for posts or content that can not be automatically grabbed.
• Configuration file reading and writing. For those that one to run your own setup with your own assets.
• Complete end to end solution for CakeFS users so that they can install it on their machines with minimal effort.
• Addition of beneficiaries to the reports so that the artists highlighted there get a portion of the post rewards.
• and more.

As hinted above this script is only the first of many that I've got in the works, but that's a post for another day. Each will be made available for download and collaboration via github when they reach a state of maturity.
