Black Mirror Season 5 is announced for June 5!

A few hours ago I was checking Youtube and was so happy to finally see the new Black Mirror season finally announced with a trailer!

I have been a huge fan of this series for years, and I remember being very hyped when I saw the Bandersnatch trailer last December. That special episode was kind of cool, but I personally prefer to have more regular episodes rather than just one special interactive episode.

The good things is that now Netflix just announced the new season with 3 new stories and I am already counting the days to watch it ^^.

For those of you that don't know what Black Mirror is all about, it is an anthology series where each episode is a unique story. The stories are always about futuristic technologies, and the impact these technologies might have on human societies. Some episodes have really mind bending topics and huge twists like White Christmas or USS Callister but the truth is that every episode has been great so far and it is really hard to say which one is the best. For horror fans for example the best one would be Playtest, and the most touching story, in my opinion, would be San Junipero.

I think one of the reasons they waited until June to release this season was because of Game of Thrones. They probably decided to release this season after GOT is finished because otherwise they would have to compete with GOT for attention, and winning that battle would be almost impossible. Although I would put Black Mirror and GOT at the same level of quality (not budget but the same level of entertainment), it is obvious the safe bet is to not compete with GOT while the last episodes are running.

Being an anthology, people can watch the episodes and the seasons in any order because all of them are independent from each other. If anyone wishes to discuss about this series feel free to leave a comment below!
