Horror video games that I plan to play soon

in #blog5 years ago (edited)

As I said in previous articles, I've been playing Enderal for a few weeks and it's just as I expected it. It is amazing that a small team of developers has been able to create something that can easily be compared to Skyrim, a project that was a super production with a multi-million dollar budget. I haven't finished it yet but I think I have already passed 50% of the game, so I've been thinking about what to download after I finish it.

At the moment, besides Enderal I have 2 little games installed, GRIS is a very basic one in 2D but with a very attractive and original design. When I finish it, I will install Journey, which is the same style. The other one I have is a little old horror game called Amnesia The Dark Descent. I have barely played this one because I have always prioritized others. At some point I will play it and finish it. The good thing about this game is that it has a good reputation as a pure horror game, which is a genre that I enjoy very much. Later on my idea is to install SOMA which is newer and from the same creators of Amnesia.

On the other hand, once I am finished with Enderal I plan to install 2 horror games that are recent, one is Blair Witch and the other is Man of Medan, which is the first of a new anthology of horror games. The only thing that doesn't convince me is that their reviews on Steam are mixed and that always causes me distrust. But when the time comes I will check again and decide.

When it comes to AAA productions, I eventually plan to reinstall The Witcher 3. I installed this game months ago but I played it very occasionally, which made me lose track of history and I was constantly forgetting how the controls were configured. So I decided to delete it with the intention reinstalling it of a few months down the road when I had more time available. Since in December the series of The Witcher on Netflix comes out surely by that date I will decide to install it and thus enjoy that universe with both productions. Another one that also has my eye on is the last of Tomb Raider, the first one I played in the X360 and it was cool so this should be even better.

Finally, there is a horror saga known as Outlast that I haven't tried yet, but in due course, I will start playing it. In the last year or so in total I have played 3 horror games: Call of Cthulhu, The Evil Within 2 and Resident Evil 7, and I finish these 3 months ago. So it is time to try a new one. Probably around the Halloween date is when I am going to finally decide which new horror game to install.

Sort:

Witcher 3 was on special for something absurdly low like $6 or so and i have it in the library, but was turned off as to how the tutorial happens all at once and you are expected to remember like 15 button combinations after that one thing. Don't get me wrong, I am still going to play it because all my pals are constantly on my case for the fact that I still haven't even tried to play it.

Can I assume that you have already played "Inside? " That is honestly one of the best "dark" games ever made in my mind. it is only 2-D but man that game is haunting and extremely well-made.

I suppose you are going to watch the Witcher series from Netflix when it releases am I right?

Hhahha yeah of course I played it! It was awesome and I played Limbo as well. Another little game I played was Little Nightmares but this one got boring for me so I didn't finish it. The same happened with We Happy Few, the intrigue eventually fade away.

Little Nightmares I think was quite obviously trying to follow in the footsteps of Inside... It was ok but while i did finish it, it didn't captivate me the way Inside did. I like the idea behind these games that tell a story without using any words and it is kind of up to you to fill in the blanks or actually to create the entire plot depending on how you interpret what is going on in the game. If you haven't done so already the youtube vids (some an hour long) attempting to explain what actually is happening in "inside" are really interesting.

When the Witcher comes to Netflix I probably will watch it, but I think it might be better for me to have actually played the game by then. I reckon I'll get started on that as soon as I finish Chronicles of Teddy... which is a great pixel game.

I haven't watch them but I will probably do it soon. Although I played that game months ago.

Chronicles of Teddy

You made me google that game, it looks fun ^^.

Man Blair Witch was such a scary movie when I watched it like 10 years ago. A game of it would be crazy! 🎮 😱

Thanks I will have a look at it! 🙏🏽
