Hi readers! If you have been keeping up with my blogs, this week's story continues where our gang left off last Saturday, checking out the deserted military area at Türisalu.

Catch up with the beginning of the story here Abandoned places Part I - The Town

We end our picnic between the ruins of old buildings, having a bit of a Fallout feeling. The place is surrounded by buildings with no roofs, with walls and floors collapsed.

Someone has spraypainted a number 94 on the last pole standing. Initially i thought that it was some kind of a gang or group tag, but looking more into it reveals that MTN 94 is a spraypaint brand from Montana Colors. Sometimes things don't have a deeper meaning.

We gather our stuff at the picnic site and stop to enjoy the sight of nature reclaiming it's own. Strawberries will grow here soon, the leaves are already here, pushing out from between the red crumbly bricks.

Moving ahead, a look back reveals how artistically the last wall of a house is standing in the shadow of a tree. Only a matter of time though, when this wall is gone too.

We reach the meadows. From afar, there are just mounds and humps along the road, but a closer and more careful look reveals concrete man-made steps that lead to the other side. The steps are overgrown with dry grass and looking from a wrong angle, one might easily miss them.

On the other side, in most cases, there is nothing but empty overgrown trenches and perhaps some wild strawberries, if one was to visit this place in a couple of months.

There is one thing though - we come across this weird wall, which, from afar looks like an execution wall. From closer up, it is revealed as a crumbly wall of a garage for some kind of vehicles.

Reaching the path again, we head forward. One could even enjoy a cool and romantic Sunday walk here, as the pines line the road on both sides and we see no collapsed buildings for a while.

We reach this tubular bunker, probably a shelter for some mechanics or ammunition. The bunker itself was probably supposed to be hidden from sight, should the enemy do fly-overs.

Concrete fenceposts line the bunker, the missing barbed wire accents the abandoned feel of the entire area.

A view from inside the bunker turns out to be kinda cool, almost unearthly, as the sun plays tricks on the camera.

After a while, we circle back to the entrance to the area, climbing the last building and grabbing one more look of the picnic site.

Our feet are tired from walking around this vast area, we sink into the seats of our car with gratitude and head home.
