TIL about the first text message sent!

in #blog5 years ago

Well I was watching "Problem Child in House" today, a korean variety show where 5 people (the hosts) and their guest/s are locked up in a rooftop and are only allowed to go home after they finished answering ALL 10 questions (they are not allowed to use any form of gadgets or internet and have to rely on collective intelligence, a lot of guesses and luck XD).

Anyway, one question that I really found interesting was the content of the first ever text message sent.

The first ever text message sent was "MERRY CHRISTMAS", sent by 22 year old (at that time) software developer Neil Papworth to his friend using a computer since mobile phones at that time do not have a keyboard yet on December 3, 1992.
