The Real YousteemCreated with Sketch.

in #blog6 years ago

A post on this blog has been long overdue, so in the midst of being a husband, father, worker, content creator, and just an overall decent human being. In the midst of getting my streaming channel started on DLive, re-establishing old friendships from my time on Twitch, and thinking about how I can further my blog on Bitcoin/Life synchronicity, I just now realized, not even a few minutes before I started this post, that I literally did not know what to do.

Production can be something of a mystery at times, like a rainbow off in the distance that you know contains some kind of mythical treasure at the end of the elusive band of colors, you don't really know where it begins or where it ends, but you know that it must be pursued. The act of being productive can be both satisfying and stressful, much like being a husband/wife and/or father/mother. I could've never guessed that married life could be so challenging, or how being a father could be so surreal. But that's a story for another time.

Being productive however is similar in that satisfying/stressful sense, yet entirely different, in that it is something that the human has to do. The individual does not have to get married, or further a bloodline, but one has to produce. It's ingrained in the very fiber of our being to create, labor, research, observe, progress, etc. All things that make something from another, like changing cold water into hot is a form of producing if it makes a bowl of Ramen as my lovely wife did so for me today. My wife is a wonderful producer of sustenance for her family of 3 humans and dozens of other various animals.

I titled this post "The Real You", simply because the real individual such as yourself can produce so much. The real you could produce so much positive influence in another's life it could loose the bonds of anxiety and depression, but on the other hand the real you could produce so much destruction it could tear another human being down to a 6ft depth. The real you is likely to struggle weighing the balances of both throughout the lifetime but what's important is tipping the scales as far into positive production as possible. We live in an age where evil can easily be mistaken as good, and where the fabric of reality is being ever changed by virtual reality. In the virtual world we can be anything and anyone, do anything, anywhere, and I expect the production of VR to continue and progress, further blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.

But the real you is a human being on the planet earth, with the ability to produce love and hate, the great duality, both in the virtual and the physical. The funny thing is that we have the ability to produce both love and hate in both realities! Acts of kindness and acts of violence have transcended the plane of reality into the virtual world, and I happen to believe that it will further transcend not just into VR but also into human produced artificial intelligence, (however, that maybe stretching the lines of reality and fantasy a bit). The truth is that I believe that acts of violence has outweighed acts of kindness in both worlds, so much so that it seems to overflow at times. I am not saying that video game violence produces real world violence, but that violence produces violence in any form and fashion.

I often wonder what my daughter will produce over her lifetime. For the first year of her life my wife and I put her to bed to the soft voice of Bob Ross, painting happy little trees in hopes that these positive sayings would have a lasting effect on her, maybe one day making her an artist perhaps. But unfortunately my daughter is being raised by a father who was never taught to be a father or a husband. I was raised by a single mother, in poverty, and in the streets of southern California. So no matter how hard my mother tried to raise me to be a man, a father, or a husband, she would fail. Instead I am learning as I go.

The real you is also learning as you go. Learning to produce positive and negative inputs into yourself and others in the greatest reality of all time. Love and hate will consume the real you, but I hope that the balance of power is tipped by boundless acts of love. Love that I have achieved from my wife and daughter have made me into the happiest man I could ever be, and with that I should hope to produce as much positivity into my family and friends as possible. But because of my lack of knowledge in the field of spouse and parent, I have struggled to keep a proper balance of my emotions, leading to poor decision making and ultimately leading into producing negative outcomes.

But the real you needs to know one thing as I bring this post to a close. One valuable thing that I have learned and am experiencing almost daily...

True love conquers all.

So let the real you love.

:)

Love,

@JoeOhs

Very nice post, love the idea of putting the baby to sleep with Bob Ross in the background :)

Some of the people I met who were great at parenting were a little unlucky in that department themselves. Maybe that becomes a deep incentive to give your all as a parent once you become one. One thing for sure is you don't need to be absolutely perfect to create great, strong bonds with your child and raise them as happy, healthy individuals, they just need to know you are and always will be there for them. You seem very thoughtful and loving towards her and you guys seem like a nice, happy family. Hope you both give yourselves credit for that :)

Why thank you! I was not expecting a reply after so many days but what a welcome surprise! :D
I happen to agree with you on all points. One thing I have noticed quite often from our daughter, who is now 16 months old, is that there are times when she just feels like coming over and resting her head on my knee, for whatever reason. The knee is there. If it wasn't she may have to resort to something less meaningful which would/could potentially effect her perspective of us, her main support system. My desire is for her to know that when the knee is present, it should be available to her as needed. I try to focus on the little things like that as often as I can.
Bob Ross time has been recently replaced with a show called 'Spirit' about a girl and her horse, but I have a feeling she'll know that afro when she see's it again ;)
Thanks again @sivatibet
