Pol Pot - 19 May 1925 – 15 April 1998)
A Cambodian communist politician who served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kampuchea from 1963 to 1981.
Ideologically, he was a Marxist–Leninist and he led the Khmer Rouge army from 1963 until 1997. From 1976 to 1979, he served as the Prime Minister of Democratic Kampuchea.
The Khmer Rouge was an army built up in the jungles of Eastern Cambodia in late 1960s, and were supported by North Vietnam.
They won a civil war in Cambodian in 1975 and they captured the Cambodian capital and took over the government.
The Khmer Rouge led by Pol Pot, Nuon Chea, Ieng Sary, Son Sen and Khieu Samphan renamed the country as Democratic Kampuchea .
They immediately set about forcibly depopulating the country's major cities, in an 'agrarian socialist' policy.

The communist regime would go on to murder hundreds of thousands of their political opponents.
They would round up and execute intellectuals, and even people wearing glasses. (as they were perceived as intellectual threats!)
The Cambodian genocide would lead to the deaths of around...

30% of Cambodia's population.

The Khmer Rouge communist regime was autocratic, xenophobic, ultra- paranoid and repressive in only they way communism seems to provide.

The genocide was a result of the social engineering policies - an endemic quality seen in all communistic psychology.

Attempts at agricultural collectivization led to a widespread famine .
Part of the doctrine was for total collective independence, and this also involved medicines being bought, to treat ill people.
This led to the death of thousands from treatable diseases.( such as malaria).

The Khmer Rouge's regime included several genocides of Cambodian minorities, including Thai's, and other peoples.
Executions and torture were commonplace, and seemingly at random -and carried out against any 'perceived' subversive elements.

The communists would also kill the children of their victims ' to avoid future dissent'........

It was a totally paranoid, communistic structure.
It was finally removed from power in 1979 when Vietnam invaded Cambodia and destroyed the Khmer Rouge's army. The Khmer Rouge then fled to Thailand.
They continued to fight against the Vietnamese and the new People's Republic of Kampuchea government during the Cambodian–Vietnamese War which ended in 1989.

It is interesting to note that while the war between Cambodia and Vietnam was being fought, it brought condemnation from the UN - who at the time, was fully aware of the genocide being carried out on it's own peoples by the Khmer Rouge, and the world's government's continued to see the Khmer Rouge as the 'legitimate government' long after the war had subsided.

The UN, and the world governments supported a genocidal, manically brutal regime, that killed nearly a third of it's own people.

A side note, we heard what you had to say on the subject of downvoting.

As far as countering flags goes, we fully agree with doing so on posts that fit the criteria for curating. So a post that we would curate fits the criteria for counter a flag(assuming we can because some people have a lot of SP). Usually people with tons of SP do not downvote so most of the time we should be able to counter the flag ourselves without almost anyone else needing to come in and help.

This post for example is something we would curate and many of your posts fit that criteria as well. If a post is"zeroed out" after we have already curated it there will be a place you can drop a link to the post in our discord. I was thinking we also make a post every so often on our IW account that would raise the flag to the fellow Information Warriors of what is going on in terms of people being downvoted.

If someone zeroes out your post we can (the IW account + curation trail) go back to the post and upvote it at a higher %. And then if the post if still zeroed out we can raise the flag to all members to help out as well.

So that will be the "rough draft" of our thoughts on it for now. At a later time I was going to write up a more detailed post about it and ask everyone's opinions on things to include different scenarios and a step by step plan on how we would deal with it.

I was thinking we also make a post every so often on our IW account that would raise the flag to the fellow Information Warriors of what is going on in terms of people being downvoted.

could you put a list of any infwarriors in 'flag war', on your 'IW curated' post- so every would know to look at it for 'current' events?
(I dunno, just a thought)

This is where coming on informationwar discord is an advantage. When this curator notices a flag on one of our post. I post such in iw-teem channel. Than we all take appropriate action. It has happen d in the past. @truthforce was not joking at all when he offered to share the history of our activities. It is openly discussed in our meetings. I can tell you from experience of being on the inside as a curator there are no secrets.

We need people just like you writing post just like you do. We also need them to be the informationwar change by writing post, coming to the meetings and presenting their ideas. Informationwar needs writers and thinkers just like you. To be frank I was ecstatic when I saw what was happening. Not because I wanted you to go through the shitty feeling of being flagged for political bull. Cause if your going to tell the truth, you had better become more informed about what we (informationwar) do. How we support our content creator's.

As you know if there is something worth doing

"No one is better able to accomplish your goal than you are".

Come to the meeting, share your idea's and see for yourself if you agree with what we are doing. If you don't agree show us where we are wrong and how we can do it better.

Remember that old saying:

"The squeaky wheel gets the grease."

How you liking your grease? LOL

This is where coming on informationwar discord is an advantage.

I'd prefer not to, tbh. (hence me never joining you there)
I went of discord last year, and I don't think I've been back on.

To be frank I was ecstatic when I saw what was happening.

Join the club! lol
If I wasn't getting crucified.....

Come to the meeting, share your idea's and see for yourself if you agree with what we are doing. If you don't agree show us where we are wrong and how we can do it better.

You know my ideas, I don't need to come to a meeting.
I'm fully supportive of what you are doing - but this will happen again to someone, at some point (me most probably if someone has my back..)

I'll post my/any ideas to you, as and if they come to me. I'm not shy about it. lol

We're gonna need a bigger grease gun...

(I would say securing support from some 'big players' is essential, so you have the clout to counter leftist attacks - If financial instrument can be used to silence, then that's what will be used, make no mistake.
There has to be enough bigger players in steemit who are libertarian principled... (I hope).
Enough to make sure the fight is in the argument and not in the economy...

The cambodian genocide is a direct result of the democrats renigging on the treaty of paris.

I think it was Pol Pot who antagonized his Vietnamese neighbor, and it may have been the Khmer Rouge that initiated the Vietnam-Cambodian war. Pol Pot was known to have boasted that one Khmer Rouge grunt could kill four Vietnamese soldiers. Like any Leftist loon, ideology and feelings trumped facts. He warred against a neighbor who recently defeated one of the premier powers, in possession of a battle-hardened veteran army, with overflow of military equipment gathered from China and abandoned US supplies; and he, Pol Pot, governed over starved, denuded population with a gang in possession of second rate training and equipment, one-fourth the size of the opposing army. Vietnam did not pursue the Khmer Rouge into the swamps of Thailand because the entire country was in its possession within 3 weeks.

UN is nothing but a circus sideshow that rubber stamps any foreign policy objective of the security council members. That UK and France are nothing but a sham of a nation, effectively makes the world subject to the whims of the US and the CCP, with Russian regional interests in due consideration.

Pol Pot is not a Cambodian, but a Marxist drone and his Khmer Rouge foreign occupiers. Like the members of the CCP, Pol Pot is merely a genetic Cambodian, but lacks cultural and social elements that would make him Cambodian. Similarly, those in the West that are essentially Marxist drones share merely genetic variable with the host population, but are nothing more than foreign agents. Such scum ought to be treated as such, either deported to some Marxist shithole, or sent to the firing squad.

i Totally agree, but I'm not too sure about shooting them.
Is it really a good use of men and bullets....?
not feeding them for a while would do the trick...
