The death of postmodernism is coming...I'll tell you why...and how....but first, some history... part 1

in #blog5 years ago (edited)

The success of the free market system (leaving the semantics out of this statement about crony capitalism, which we all know it is . Lets not get diverted.)
Postmodernists love diversion. It's what their product is, after all.

So I'll start again...

The success of the free market system over the last 150 years had given untold wealth, and improved the lives of eveyone on the planet.
There is no metric that doesn't prove this.
Be it population growth (increased calorie production), increased health (mortality and life longevity rates), or increased wealth.
The leftists will bemoan poverty, but it is a fact that the world is richer now than it has ever been.

Equal? No. Fair? No.

With the decadence of the last century and half there also comes with it, a price.

That price is the luxury to think. The time to think. Not to thinking of ways to solve real problems, but the luxury of time which allows for thinking in the the abstract, to find problems - and to then solve them.

You see, there is an underlying system that precludes the luxury of thought...
Humans are hardwired to have problems.
To find problems.
Without problems there is no purpose to do new things, to move forwards.

So while decadence may bring time , it a doesn't bring apathy. The deep seated 'problem paradigm', still exists.
Problems will be found , even if they don't exist.

What the problem is , doesn't matter. What matters, is that there is a problem.

Marx never had a job, but he did have lots of time to think, and we all know how that turned out for a couple of hundred million people...

The devil is in the detail, and so to with Marxism (and postmodernism, which is essentially the same thing - a power grab..).

The thing with Marx is..... he was right.
The thing with the foundations of postmodernism ....Is that's it's correct.

And that's the problem.

You know the old saying 'don't throw the baby out with the bathwater'?
(Meaning you don't throw away things of value, with the waste...)

This is precisely what happened with Marxism and postmodernism. Except we threw nothing out, and we kept the bathwater to!

Marx outlined the problem of wealth inequality and the social problems that may potentially come with this. (note future tense. It's important to realize this, as it closely tied with postmodernism).

This was a new phenomenon, in marx's time..
Never before had cities and population centers been seen on such a large scale. Industrialization. ( due to the success of capitalism as a system).

So Marx was correct in seeing possible social problems through wealth inequality.
What he chose to do with observation however - was so wildly incorrect , that it that led to hundreds of millions of people dying , all chasing a failed logic.
Failed logic will collapse under it's own weight. Eventually. Always.

Postmodernism is the new face of Marxism.

How so? (You may ask...)
Well, I'll tell you...

By the late 1960's, Marxism was know to have failed. Even the french intellectuals of the time recognized this - who were all Marxists.
Satre himself - an avowed for communist most of his life - died as a self labeled anarchist, after seeing the blatant failure of communism in all it's bloody reality.

But this left a lot of hard core Marxists in a very uncomfortable position. Marxist's that once held kudos up until the late 60's, found that their status had shifted.
To be an Marxist now, was to be a pariah, a loser. (the left and fragile ego's, are very closely connected, I think).
So instead of growing up and seeing reality that had been written on the wall in the blood of millions, their fragile ego's created something else.
Something to replace the Marxist economic doctrine, that was now seen for what it was.
An abysmal failure.

They created POSTMODERNISM.

And it is based on a correct philosophical argument.
That's the problem.
While the correct philosophical argument is correct - It is also of no use in the real world.
When concept meets reality, there will only ever be one winner.

The casualties, however - in this war of truth - are very real.
That's why the sooner death of the post modernistic logic occurs, the better. As fast as is humanly possible. (and my motivation for writing these pieces).
The casualties are very, very real.

So what is this correct philosophical argument? You may ask.
Well, I'll tell you.

Jacques Derrida was one of the main figures within the early post modernist movement. An avowed Marxist. (along with Paul-Michel Foucault)
His correct philosophical argument was this...

THAT EVERY SITUATION ALLOWS FOR AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF DIFFERENT INTERPRETATIONS.

Philosophically speaking this is 100% correct.

The problem is, that an entire postmodernism movement have used this as the very basis for it's own legitimacy.
Unfortunately, while being philosophically true, - IT CANNOT BE APPLIED IN THE REAL WORLD, IF VALUES EXIST.
Oh dear.
If all things can be interpreted in a different amount of ways (without a value structure), then every option is a valid as the next.
That makes sense, yeah?
Continuing that logic...
Here is a simple example of the contradiction which is postmodernism. (there are lots - in pretty much anything ever said.)

....When you wake up in the morning, blowing your brains out, is just as valid an action, as going to work.

Without value, every option is logical...'but..but...value is arbitrary,'....(says the post modernist)
I see a hole in this argument (if not in someones head).

While philosophically correct, it has no value in the real word.
With values, comes structure.
Without values, there is no structure.

....Values create better and worse options. Some are better options than others. Work is better than suicide, for example.
but not in the postmodernist's world.

Insidious brain cancer, anyone?

The very act of attaching values makes the philosophical doctrine of postmodernism- relative to the real world - completely untenable.

And applying this untenable position into real world situations, only leads to total chaos and extreme psychological damage.
Damage as the logical rational mind, tries it's best to fit this ' philosophy' into the reality.
Reality where values are real.
Everyone has values.
It is a fact of being a living organism. All living organism, not just humans.

Do you value your wife and child, over a stranger?
Of course you fucking do!
Just one simple example of the ridiculousness of the concept that values are not real.
One simple example of the stupidity of post-modernistic logic, and it's teachings. (and by extension, it's teachers..)

In other words - it's a TOTAL head fuck.

Which is precisely the aim of postmodernism.....

To fuck with people heads, and thus cause cognitive dissonance which in turn causes division within themselves, and in doing so, gives over the power to the people who peddle it.
They become the messiah with answers that don't actually exist.

The head fucked individuals are so head fucked by this time, that they keep listening to the snake oil salesman peddling total bollocks, hoping 'to see the light', by trying to make some sense out of it all.. . where there is no sense to be made.

Postmodernism, as with Marxism, is not about an ideology of equality.

It's an ideology based on attaining power.

While Marx used class war as the dividing strategy, postmodernists use the same strategy, but with different labels.
Sex, sexuality, race, ethnicity, privilege....and on and on.

Oppressor versus the oppressed. Always the same perspective.

and for this model to function, categorizations are essential.
Identity politics.

The labels are different , the strategy is identical.

Create conflict through identity politics, and then, in the ensuing chaos, establish power over the people you have confused.

The one good thing about all of this?
The one humongous Achilles heel of this school of thought that's infecting academia, industry, and life sciences right now?

It's patently obvious. (and also the cause of it's own rapidly oncoming death).

It's total, utter, and absolute... BOLLOCKS.

Here in Canada, our idiot Prime Minister has been calling Canada a postnational country. It’s downright frightening to listen to. He’ll do anything the UN tells him to do.

It’s looking like the UN is searching for a socialist utopia that many countries have searched and failed to find every single time they’ve tried to find it! Even most of the western media has bought into this idea of utopia.

We live in scary times.
