He liked Brigadier Steve. They'd fought many a battle together, and he respected his aggressive attitude and sharp brain.
His paranoia of not knowing what the enemy were up to , and where they were - at all times -served Gen. Mickey very well.
'My old information warrior,' He called him affectionately.
He could alwyas count on Coin;s brigade to be at the head of the column, with the knowledge of the enemy well known to the rest of the army.

But there was downsides to Brig. Steve's aggression. He made him sloppy with his orders, and lots of times left his brigade strung out in columns, and confused as to their precise orders.

He had, however, found a solution to this - and had served him well for over two years now.

And it was THIS that was the reason for his concern. He wasn't worried about he enemy in the slightest.

Over the last two years, Gen Mickey had employed many a native scout, to find out information as far beforehand as possible.
The very same natives also gave him a herb to make him sleep whil eon the road.
He never actually took it himself, knowing a good bourbon and a cigar, would fix any problems intheat area.
What he did do however, is sprinke some of this herb into Brig Coins morning coffee when they the Division commanders meeting was help.
General MIckey was as stickler for this daily meeting, which was mostly to give Brig. Steves morning coffee to him.
Gen Mickey found he lost none of his edge, but some of his recklessness.
He was definitely more relaxed with his herb laced beans...

This was now not an option - all his native herb suppliers were heading south with the rest of the army.
He was under strict orders to tell no one about this operation - including his scouts.

He remembered the last time Brig Steve had gone without his morning herb coffee, and it wasn't pretty.
He became paranoid, and saw conspiracies everywhere.
It was most off putting, having to defend accusations from his subordinate brigadier.
The last time it had happened, He and his officers they were poring over maps , when Brig Steve crashed in holding paper in his hands, waving it around with a crazy look in his eyes...

"General, general !", His brigadier shouted " Explain this, please..", passing him the paper.
It was blank.
" I have no information, sir, I have no information, where is my information? Have you planned together and stolen it from me me, have ya?"

The officers looked back at the very manic brigadier.....

" Coffee?, Brigadier?" The General said, very calmly. "I'll get cook to put some eggs on, you'll probably be peckish after a few cups of Joe.."

MEANWHILE....

General Blewitt was also having his own problems...

"....I'm not exactly sure why, sir," Said the sergeant. " He just says he's running his brigade differently nowadays, and says his orders will be reached only by a collective decision, and not just his officers..."

"Get Brigadier Blaah to me -IMMEDIATELY " Shouted the General to the sergeant.
Blewitt thought Baah would profit much more from looking a french erotic photo's, rather than french revolutionary theory.
One of the smartest people that he knew, he was also one of the most stupid at the same time..

He looked down his officer list, looking at potential new brigadier generals...

KNOCK! KNOCK!
General Blewitt looked up from his maps, which were still as confusing as ever.

.... 'It would be so much easier if I knew what the enemy wanted.' He thought to himself ' That way I could just let them have it, and avoid any unnecessary unpleasantness! '

KNOCK KNOCK!

"Enter,!" Shouted Blewitt. He didn't recognize this man. Had never seen him before, in fact.
"Yes?, what is it,?" He said impatiently.

"I have some freshly made coffee for you, sir, " Said the native Indian, placing the tray on his desk, " Cook is making you a very big breakfast.."

It's comedy GOLD! ;>

btw, Can you send some of that herb coffee to my USB?

OK...to the map

I see one of the Alabama regiments got isself lost (See below). The other one should move to the adjacent road hex and follow the Texas regiments.

The Texas regiments, with the Ala that didn't get lost, will move down the road through Seaport and DFB on the grids marked with red diamonds.

The LOST BOYS will move down the path marked in red to the east of the road as a screen to the other brigades (and to stay out of their way;>) --they should eventually reestablish contact with my brigade

Obviously, Division orders override those commands.

I assumed river hexes would interfere with movement, but I see that is not the case

I'm also guessing my cav units are organic to the regiments, and I can't play run and gun with them ;>
