Forever The Same Answer

What on earth is the fascination with socialism from the left, are they confusing it with the word social?

So on Monday I noticed a video from John Oliver about Venezuela and I decided to watch it, which will be the first time in months I have actually willingly watched something from him. I thought well finally, someone from the left leaning media is going to point out how terrible the effects and aftermath of socialism actually is. Imagine my surprise when it turns out that they did literally the exact opposite, the failures of Venezuela apparently has nothing to do with socialism. So what was the cause that got this country to the point where people are starving and currency has gone into hyper inflation, well according to John it was "epic mismanagement". I literally couldn't stop laughing.

The entire reason that people appose socialism, and why it is such a bad idea is because of this exact reason. Which is that an intrusive government with the control of everything can, and usually is, mismanaged. When a socialist government has control government bureaucracy and human greed will eventually lead to gross mismanagement over time. Capitalism is the complete opposite of this and is designed to combat this by placing the control and ownership of property in the hands of the individual.

"Socialism has no moral justification whatsoever; poor people are not morally superior to rich people, nor are they owed anything by rich people simply because of their lack of success. Charity is not a socialist concept - it is a religious one, an acknowledgment of God's sovereignty over property, a sovereignty the Left utterly rejects." - Ben Shapiro

There seems to be a massive disconnect with what people think governments have to ability to accomplish. When any government gets involved it is never a good thing, can you even name one great invention that came from a government, no you can't because it does not exist and has never ever happened. When the state steps in with regulations like price fixing of certain products and services, it destroys the economy. Look at all the amazing social programs there are in America, then look and all the money they need to print or to use the big words that make is sounds better "quantitative easing". Then you wonder why the economy is $22 Trillion in debt and the derivative market is sitting at $1,8 Quadrillion, all those things have a cost. When you run a business into the ground with debt it's a catastrophe, but when it's a country it's just not the right way of implementing socialism.

"In socialism, private property is anathema, and equal distribution of income the first consideration. In capitalism, private property is cardinal, and distribution left to ensue from the play of free contract and selfish interest on that basis, no matter what anomalies it may present." - George Bernard Shaw

It is so sad to see what has been happening in Venezuela. To think that the almighty and wise government decided to piss the lives of everyone away because they had their heads buried up their butts that their eyes couldn't see the stupidity of their plan. MIsmanagement is such a polite way to say theft and corruption.
As much as they might preach otherwise, governments often just make things worse. Why create when it is so easy to be a leach?

Ahahahaha. I may have to watch that. In the strictest sense of the word, he is correct. Gross mismanagement is the problem. When you give away more than you have it is considered mismanagement. When you do it again and again over 20 years it becomes gross mismanagement. Simple, really :)

Thanks Mork.

I'm sure it's awful. This is not the correct place for begging. Flag.
