Discrimination Based On Race Is Racism

The entire debate on this subject has escalated to an unfathomable degree in the last few years.

We have been led to believe that racism today is somehow more of a problem than it was fifty years ago or even worse than it was one hundred years ago. How can racism possibly be worse today than during slavery? Then again was slavery the hight of racism? When we compare the Arab slave trade to the Atlantic slave, we have been told that one of these was predicated on the idea of racism and the other not so much. The Atlantic slave trade happened on a period on two hundred years and estimated about ten million people where sold into slavery, now compare that to the Arab slave trade that started in the 8th century up until the 20th century, and is still happening today. We aren't told about the Arab slave trade as much because it does not fit the evil white man narrative.

There has been a serious vilification of a specific race, which is white people. I keep seeing people telling white people to be aware of the privilege that is associated with their skin colour, talk about a racist generalisation. Firstly, I don't call this a race privilege, I call it parental sacrifice, my folks gave up everything they had to provide me with everything I need, they stayed together no matter how hard it got, for that sake of their children. These days that is now considered disgusting and shameful to be proud of it, it is disrespectful to those who did not get this same sacrifice from their parents. Our society is at the stage where is openly chastises people solely based on their race, and then says this is somehow not racism?

We should all have an honest look at society, and at what we are being fed by the news media and social media. Just look at the blatant hypocrisy of what is happening around you, it is considered completely political correct to accuses all white people of something, but then accuse other of racism. Then we are told that the definition of some words have changed, to mean new things, like how only people with power can be racist. Things like institutional racism is still a thing, please point me to this institution that is still racist, are they referring to black economic empowerment, where people of a preferred race are given an advantage above someone else of a different race? They try to explain how something like that is not racist much the same way they try to explain that taxation is not theft.

We are as a society moving ever closer to equality of outcome rather than the equality of opportunity, and to explain why the first one does not ever work I'll use a little analogy. Think of playing a game of monopoly, equal oppertunity mean that everyone should be allowed to play, that it, plain and simple. Equality of out come mean that each and every person playing the game of monopoly has to finish the game with the exact same winnings as the other, just try to imagine trying to regulate the action of each player the entire game, it's almost impossible. That is what this ideology attempts to do, control of everything, including our thoughts.

Yeah. I remember the actual real life institutional racism. Where separate but equal was king. It wasn't. Separate yes. Equal? Not even close.

Have I had an advantage? Yep.

I'd like to believe that calling me racist just because of the color of my skin is just the pendulum swinging too far in correction of the previous swing. Jim Crow was truly evil in this country, I consider it much worse than Slavery. Slavery had some inherent ignorance with it. Jim Crow was a considered system of racism.

So. It's all part and parcel of the changing of the US in 1871 to a corporate Government with statutes and rules rather than law. Part of it is legally gone now, but the heart still beats. It's ugly under any idea.

Thanks Mork.

We aren't told about the Arab slave trade as much because it does not fit the evil white man narrative.

Bingo, seems a whole lot of history is being redacted to that end. Like all the white slavery and child labor that was also prevalent in the US or how a third of black people in colonial times were not slaves at all.

"Things like institutional racism is still a thing, please point me to this institution that is still racist"

Our drug and gun laws are a good example of institutional racism. These laws were originally created with the express intent of racial suppression and nothing has changed that much so they still function as they were intended. In blue states to this day we have the Jim Crow era policy of letting unelected bureaucrats deny people who meet all the requirements for gun ownership their right to do so, they are literally allowed to discriminate, the only reason to allow the police to discriminate is so they can discriminate on the basis of race gender or socio economic status. After the 14th amendment made it illegal to make laws about certain races they passed these permitting schemes that let cops, who are all white, decide who was "suitable".

The other is our drug laws, they originally banned cannabis in order to target blacks and Mexicans and beatniks, opium to target the Chinese and cocaine to also target black people. If you are rich you can get all the legal opiates you want but if you are poor they will lock your ass up.

Your comment about equality of opportunity and outcome is very perceptive as well, just consider how often the media and politicians push the idea of "income inequality" as if that is a bad thing as if there should be income equality. But how the fuck would that work?

As far as white prvilidge you are right on there as well. I used to teach in the inner city and the white kids were often much worse off than the minority children. Should I tell a kid who lives in a group home in the ghetto whose parents are dead that he is privileged because his skin color?
It's funny when I was a kid I occasionally heard myself referred to as "underprivileged" but now as an adult I am privileged merely due to my lack of melanin!

All men are created equal in rights unfortunately many engage in acts that are unhealthy to the community.
Subcultures are subcultures.
Western society is the best culture.
All other cultures can pack it in.
Why are the oppressed from all over the globe trying to migrate to western cultures?
Light switches and clean water and food capital.
Access to that is Equality.
There is no racism only bad culture and good culture.
