Music: Be More Chill
Recently I have been listening to the soundtrack of a musical that is about to hit Broadway: Be More Chill. The musical premiered Off Broadway in 2018 and will have its Broadway debut on March 10th of this year.
The premise is not new: the main character, Jeremy, is a high school outcast who wants acceptance from his peers. This play differentiates itself, however, by using science fiction elements, including a quantum nano computer, to help teach Jeremy to 'be more chill'. It also sets itself above other similar plays by giving substantial time to develop the characters of his best friend, Michael, and love interest, Christine.
