YouTube Success Requires Focus on Channel, Not “Trolls”

in #blog6 years ago (edited)

Do you worry too much?

Recently, I’ve observed how a ‘veteran’ YouTuber is ensnared in a case of self-sabotage.

I’ve observed this person courageously start a daily live-stream. I won’t go into details on why I deem the person courageous; but, I am watching the unraveling of all of her hard work; and increased subscribers, simply because she has failed to keep her eyes on the road, choosing instead to involve herself in dialogue with faceless people who are ruffling her feathers.

She accurately calls most of them trolls. Simply put, it’s okay to acknowledge that trolls exist; but one should never, ever, give these interceptors, power over your bottom line. In this case, the trolls are succeeding at their plan to send this upcoming YouTuber back down into the crab bucket with them.

She is ALLOWING them to zero in on her bottom line: Destroying any hopes of rising up in the spirit of good-old-fashioned SUCCESS, generating a healthy income.

While trying to defend her integrity against people who aren’t of any real value to her channel, her sub count is spiraling downward into the rabbit hole, simply because she’s putting all of her energy into caring about people who have no care for her.

She hasn’t posted anything of substance recently, which means the trolls are successfully beating her back down into ‘her place’.

Are you such one?

Do you let people who are deliberately trying to sabotage your good thing, succeed in their endeavors?

Her cage is so rattled, and her focus so far removed from the purpose of her channel, that she has people beginning to question her emotional fragility. She’s a tough cookie, as they say. I’m sure she’ll be fine once she regains her focus.

We would all do well to remember Psalm 37:

1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

As I end this post, allow me to share what I’ve learned from highly successful people on YouTube; in comparison to those who fail drastically.

  • Highly successful YouTubers learn how to filter negativity.

  • The smartest allow everyone to have their voice, only giving attention to people who show a sense of sanity in their responses.

  • Constructive criticism and malicious attempts at destruction are not one in the same. In fact, they are completely on opposite ends of the spectrum…one for the good, the other for evil.

Best regards.

Peace.
