Too Tired To Workout? Push Through It!

One more hour... one more hour to go...

In one hour I'm going to pick my gym bag and head for the gym... Do you think I want to go? Well, I usually do, but today I'm so tired I'm almost falling "ASSleep" on my bed!

You see, my father had the brilliant idea of putting the damn alarm clock to 7 am, that's fine by me, he wakes up and turns it off and I don't even wake up since I'm like 3 rooms away from him... WRONG!!

I woke up with a beeping sound like a smoke alarm was going off... At first, I thought it was the neighbors, but I was dead wrong, after a couple of minutes I realized it was coming from my house. I woke up and headed for my parent's room. I looked at my parents sleeping with the alarm clock beeping right next to their heads... They weren't moving, it's like their ears weren't working... I thought to myself:

"Goddamn, ok, the alarm isn't working let's see if my voice does the trick..."

I breathe a big chunk of air and said:
"Wake up and turn that devilish thing off or I'm going to exorcize it by throwing it through the window!"

My father immediately woke up and turned the alarm off... but it was too damn late! I couldn't go to sleep anymore.

So, I woke up 3 hours earlier than normal, and that is enough for my system to go batshit crazy on me...

I'm tired, I don't want to move, I don't want to do anything, I could just fall on my bed and go to sleep right now, I actually started writing this because I don't want to fall asleep, I want to go workout.

Missing a day in the gym makes it so your goal weight, your goal body fat percentage is 1 day further! I don't like to miss days, I don't like to lose time...

I once said to a friend of mine something that actually motivates me some times! He was going through a bad breakup and didn't want to move on... I'm older than him so I decided to give some advice, what I said was:

"Since the day your mother pushed you out of her womb the clock started ticking, that clock will stop ticking the day you die, do you want to waste a few ticks by doing nothing? Do you want to waste a few clicks not trying to achieve your goal? Do you want to waste a few ticks by going after someone that doesn't want you?"

This can be applied to the gym... do you want to stay at home and be one day further from your goal? Don't you like yourself? You owe it to you and to your parents that put you in this world to be as healthy as you can! To be alive as much time as you can! You owe it to your kids, or future kids, to be as healthy as you can, to make the world a better place for them! Act now! Do something! Staying frozen in time, wasting ticks away without earning anything is, LITERALLY, a waste of time!

If this doesn't work to motivate you to go to the gym then go take a hard look at yourself in the mirror... yeah, your friendly neighbor that you try to avoid, THE MIRROR! Why do you try to avoid it? Well, obviously because you hate how your body looks...Go to the mirror and look at your body, are you happy? Well, if you aren't then head to the gym... Do something!

Neither of these things worked? Well, then I'm going to ask you, Do you want to be in your 60 taking 6 pills each day, giving hundreds of dollars to a pharmaceutical company and going to the doctor almost every month because you have back pains from the excess weight and lack of muscle that you had for years of slouching on the sofa?

One of my teachers just retired, he is around 70 years, he loves to work out, the men is 70 and is still running marathons! After retiring he went to Africa to do a Safari... I've met people in their 50-60 that couldn't even run because of the excess weight they had!

People tell me I should accept my body as it is so that I can be happy... To them, I say, "Screw that!" I ain't accepting my body as it is if I know I can be better... Why settle for mediocracy if I can work harder and make it better! "Why be a king when you can be a god?!" - Eminem, Rap God

Don't expect to go to the gym and be a supermodel by next week, or next month, be happy that you are better then you were yesterday! Progress...

Each time I see a fat women or men saying he is "happy" as he is I always tell them: "Well, you might be happy now, but when you are 70 trapped in a bed with a nurse cleaning your ass and costing thousands of dollars to the national health service let's see if you are happy..."

Came back from the gym just now!

Feeling so good... well, feeling mentality good, my legs are rekt. Can't move an inch before legs giving out on me. They don't feel hurt, they just feel tired, sometimes I'm walking and they fail and I almost fall down.

But as you can see I didn't want to go, I was lacking sleep and I was tired but I went anyway! And guess what, new freaking PR(personal record) on legs. I squatted 180kg for 8 reps and I felt I could have gone to 200kg for 6 reps but I didn't want to go crazy, I have a bad knee ( torn meniscus to be more exact).

I'm now one day closer to my goal, one day closer to achieving my utmost potential! One day closer to achieving my genetic limit!

My gym is in my basement. I have no excuses.

That's the dream, having a gym in the basement xD when i started working out when i was 18 i started in my home, but since i didn't have room to place weights and machines i had to get a gym membership...
When i was working out at home I had one problem though, there was no spotter to help me out if i fail.... What do you usually do?

I don't have a nice gym, don't get me wrong. I have some hand-me-down stuff from my parents, who always like to buy exercise equipment, but then never really use it. I have an old Bowflex, which I use for "lifting" and an elliptical, which I use for cardio sometimes. I also just get out and play with the dogs for cardio, which is good enough for me. And then push-ups and pull-ups and always simple to do, and I've got a pull-up bar in the basement as well.

Even though it isn't perfect it's still a workout, as long as your heart is racing and your muscles are sore you are good, pull ups and push ups are always great, i normally either start my workouts with those or finish them with those

and yet i haven't motivated :P i am the king of boredom a lost case :P

I was too... i spent whole days playing videogames and watching anime in front of my pc, spent days playing GW2, but something changed one day, sold everything i had in GW2, gave the gold to my friends, stopped playing and went hard in the gym, now its part of my life, it's part of my personality, it's part of my core, everyone knows me as the gym guy...

But i understand why some people don't go... it's easier, some days i would rather just sit on the couch eating pizza and watching tv shows then to go to the gym...

hahaha i did that backwards. When i was younger i was going at gym 4-5 per week and kung fu 3 times per week while ofc i had school and that continued during the first year of college. After that watching series and anime became my everyday life till i found steemit which in a way made me spent way more my time here but then again i am far from what i should have been :P

I love to workout and i had my own motivations but after reading this blog i have more of it:)
