After a hectic period with a good outcome it's time to move forward again.
I am slowly specializing into the field of Information Security and really love that subject, besides the great perspective of a growing (still) digital world with all it's risks and danger I really like to teach people and organisations all about security, being safe, mitigating risks and so on.

Although I am a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), I want to be able to aproach the profession from more ways then only theory or management view. Therefore I am going to start my next training course and that is "Ethical Hacking".

A Ethical hacker is professional who uses his skills in hacking for a good purpose. For instance to exploit vulnerabilities to organizations so that they can take the right measures to prevent the hack from happening for real. Often companies hire a Ethical hacker to test the environment of the company or test the security hardening of a application.

I am really looking forward to start this training to expand my knowledge. I am eager to learn so bring it on :)

Crypto is also a important subject to hackers because of the fact if then can compromise a exchange they are able to steal a lot of money. There are plenty of examples. It is the modern way of robbing a bank and often anonymous. Like I said before, more and more we are getting digital in all the things we do. Smart home, connected to wifi all over the globe, Internet of Things... All potential candidates for a hacker.

Be safe !!!

Have a great day,

Peter

I was in Vegas one year during the same time as the black hat hacker convention. It was really crazy. There were people taking over the elevators in the hotels and everything. I told all of the guys I was with to make sure they kept bluetooth off and didn't connect to any wireless network.

hahaha great advise, especially in such an evironment. I always advise to never use any public wifi, a man in the middle attack is so common these days. But a lot of folks still use any free wifi..

I just remembered it was the Defcon convention.

it comes with a great responsibility too

very much true. when you master hacking you have to be responsible to use it for the good purposes...

what a super awesome field to field in actually! Apart from always being invloved in all new technologies you really have a chance to make sure that granny doesnt get robbed..Love it!

Great isn't it. You alway have to try to be a step further then the one who will hack you. And believe me, that's not that easy :)
