Intricate marble carving

Jaipur is famous for a number of crafts and marble carving is one of them. It has a street named “Khazano ka Rasta” which is purely dedicated to the trade of carved marble products and is a home to all the marble carvers. You can find all kind of marble carvings happening in the small shops there. From a small carved household product to a 20 ft long statue of dietes and popular figures, all are made in the small shops situated on this street.

This marble carving is from “Gator ki Chattriyan”- a royal crematorium for the majestic rulers of Rajasthan. It is a complex of temples and tombs situated on the outskirts of Jaipur. The cenotaphs there are engraved with complex Rajasthani carvings and are the major attraction of the place.
